When we arranged the interview with Kash Patel to talk about his final installment in the Brave Books trilogy, “The Plot Against the King—Return of the MAGA King,” we had no idea that we were talking about not just one, but two Attempts to assassinate former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump. Even though this final selection in the three-way combination covers the conquest of the Deep State, the elephant in the room was this latest attempt, which required a rewording of the original questions.
When we spoke on Wednesday, Patel was as stunned as I was that the biggest challenge of the 2024 campaign would be keeping Donald Trump alive.

Following Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe’s press conference, we were informed that former President Trump now enjoys the enhanced protection his campaign had requested for sitting presidents and high-level protection figures. But the question remains what needs to be done to ensure there aren’t more attacks. Should resources be diverted from other high-level protection figures to ensure the top or potential top executive branch leadership is fully protected? I wondered why a former Speaker of the House like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) still needs special treatment. Patel explained the why.

If we have multiple teams protecting multiple people who are not running for president, can’t we protect the presidential candidate a little better?
I couldn’t agree more. And this security issue fits with the history and truth that these high-level authorities seem to want to erase, along with the former president and the Republican candidate. That’s why Patel wrote The Plot Against the King series, to shed featherlight on the darkness and corruption that plagues our government.

Patel tells the story in a way that is accessible to teenage readers, allowing parents and grandparents to have deeper conversations with their children and grandchildren about this weighty political landscape that is fraught with unseen dangers.
