I could possibly win the lottery. It could happen, but there are no chances. The same applies to a meaningless order of the executive regulation on drug prices signed by President Donald Trump on Monday and does not contain any political details and the Americans are to distract from the Republican attack on health care.
For this reason, it was disappointing to see a local news organization and a supporter of the healthcare system who celebrated the “potential” of the executive order for reducing drug prices. Don’t be fooled! The President does not have the real intention of reducing drug prices – this is all smoke and mirror to disguise the fact that the Republicans are currently working actively to demolish the health care of millions of families in order to finance tax benefits for billionaires and vast companies – including Big Pharma.
Trump was always talked about and no action when it comes to drug prices. He had four years to reduce the drug costs during his first term and nothing to achieve. In fact, drug prices rose under Trump.
He installed vast pharmaceutical executives in crucial administrative posts and distributed enormous tax benefits to vast pharmaceutical companies, whereby the effective tax rate of Big Pharma reduced by Big Pharma’s tax rate 40 percent But nothing to lower the drug prices.
A Executive order Signed by Trump on April 15, the congress with vast pharmaceutical companies and undermines the negotiation of Medicare drug prices and gives the pharmaceutical companies for four years to calculate certain medications before they can be selected to negotiate a lower price.
This executive regulations are more of the same meaningless fluff. It does not contain any details about the authority that would utilize the administration to execute the plan. It is therefore unclear how such a plan will be operationalized or legal. It is more about blaming Big Pharma’s profits abroad than to reduce the costs here at home. Finally, These pharmaceutical companies are driven by profit and greed.
So why the distraction? Why now? After Medicaid has repeatedly contested that Medicaid is cut or that people would be injured and their advantages would be taken, Medicaid is currently pending with the greatest reduction in its history.
Under the guise of darkness on Mother’s Day, the Republicans in the House Energy and Commerce Committee released The text of her budget proposal, which pretends to delete millions of their health care, by issuing the greatest reductions for Medicaid in history, increasing the costs for families with low incomes, concluding rural hospitals and relieving stressful work requirements in order to refuse to cover people. Millions of Americans – and thousands of West Virginians – could lose cover, including seniors, children, veterans, people with disabilities, employees who do not take care of their jobs, and people who take care of their children or older parents.
In addition to Draconian Medicaid cuts, Republicans lift Premiums and expenses costs for tens of million people who buy cover themselves. These Republican price increases will force bourgeois families to lose their cover as a whole.
House Republicans reveal their own voters and make health care more pricey. Such drastic cuts in the healthcare sector will give working families from the cover and in medical debts, with seniors and people with disabilities who fold out rural hospitals, released long -term care and do not allow children to be insured. This Republican household will violate people – everything to give the richest American tax breaks.
The Republicans in the Congress continue to lie about the devastating effects that will have their budget in humans and communities across the country because they know how cruel and unpopular their war is against health care. Opinion poll after Opinion poll after Opinion poll – even Trump’s own Pollster – The majority of the Americans, including the majority of Republicans, have found Medicaid or the Affordable Care Act. However, this Republican budget will give the richest Americans at the expense of medical care and the financial stability of all other tax breaks.
Not a single dollar should be taken out of health care to finance tax relief for billionaires.
