What is wrong with people who make up fake hate crimes? And why are they always people from the left? Since when did “fake it till you make it” become the rule of the Democrats?
The most recent example comes from Texas, where Taral Patel, a Democrat running for Fort Bend 3 County Commissioner, was arrested for faking racist messages – and using the photo of an innocent Fort Bend resident as his profile picture for the fake messages. Yes, really.
A Political candidate from Texas was arrested for allegedly sending himself false hate messages on social media.
Taral Patel, the Democratic candidate for the Commissioner of the 3rd District of Fort Bend, was arrested by the Texas Rangers and charged with internet identity fraud and providing false information.
Authorities allege that Patel spent months sending a barrage of racist and derogatory comments to himself, posing as a supporter of incumbent Republican Commissioner Andy Meyers.
Months! For months he has been guilty of election rigging and trying to portray himself as a brave soul fending off racist attacks to serve the people of Fort Bend! So brave, so courageous!
Except that, like so many of these things, it was a three-dollar bill that was completely fake.

Here’s the really disturbing part.
Law enforcement reported that Patel used the image of a real Fort Bend resident as his profile picture without his consent.
It is not far-fetched to think that Patel may have actually endangered this unknown, nameless man through this egregious fraud. Whoever the innocent Fort Bend resident is whose face was used, it seems he has a tailor-made defamation suit on his hands. At the very least, anyone who would have recognized this innocent citizen if the fraud had not been discovered would have reacted very badly. He could have lost his job. He could have lost his Life.
All of this is just so that a Democratic political candidate can portray himself as a cheapskate and score some political points in the race for precinct commissioner. If the matter were not so earnest, it would be downright ridiculous.
At the time of the fake, Patel posted the following:
“As a Democratic candidate for County Commissioner, I am always open to criticism of my policy positions and stances on issues,” Patel said in the September 2023 Facebook post. “However, when supporters of my Republican opponents choose to heap racist, anti-immigrant, Hinduphobic or otherwise abhorrent insults on my family, my faith community, my colleagues and me, that crosses a line.”
What a despicable scam. There are few things more despicable than liars who claim a moral high ground to which they are not only not entitled, but from which they deserve the very opposite: contempt and ridicule. Fortunately, whatever the consequences of this ruse, it is almost certain that Patel’s political career, whatever it was, is over.
At least as long as he’s in Texas.
