The financing of 17 research projects at West Virginia University has been canceled or suspended, including the federal research dollar broadcast by President Donald Trump. Shauna Johnson, Executive Director of the WVU of Strategic Communications, said that the canceled research projects were supported by a mixture of state, state and federal grants.
“WVU is an R1 university where quality formation and the latest hand go in hand. The budget cuts in research and student aid will affect the university’s educational and research missions,” said Johnson.
The financing cancellation or suspension included some multi-institutional projects in which WVU was partners.
The Federal Ministry of Education, the National Foundation for the Humanities and the Environmental Protection Authority, were among the federal financing agencies that were to finance projects.
