On Thursday, CNN will host the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, moderated by CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
The criticism of the choice of these moderators is that they could turn this into a 3-on-1 debate rather than a 1-on-1 debate between Trump and Biden. Hopefully, the questions asked by the moderators will include more policy talk rather than an obsession with Trump’s controversial conviction for white collar fraud.
However, Tapper has disparaged Trump before, even calling him Adolf Hitler. Let’s go down memory lane and see what Tapper really thinks about the former president.
Tapper had this to say on Trump’s comment that illegal immigrants were “poisoning the blood of our country.”
Four weeks before Ohioans cast their first votes in the 2024 presidential election, the dehumanizing rhetoric of Adolf Hitler is alive again on the national political stage. This time, of course, in the United States. This time, it is being brought to life by former president and current Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, whose views on immigrants became shockingly clear over the weekend. If you were to open a copy of Hitler’s Mein Kampf, you would read how the Nazi leader describes the mixing of non-Germans with Germans as poisoning. The Jew, Hitler wrote, quote, “poisons the blood of others.”
Anyone who disagrees with Tapper and the Left is branded a “Nazi sympathizer,” even in the face of the Left’s physical attacks on the Jewish community since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.
In another live segment, Tapper said:
If you were to open a copy of Hitler’s Mein Kempf, you would read that the Nazi leader refers to the mixing of non-Germans with Germans as “poisoning.” There is really no other way to put it, Donald Trump’s language directly reflects this.
Here is Tapper’s compilation of Trump and Hitler comparisons:

What Tapper misses is that Trump is not talking about legal immigrants, but about those who enter the United States illegally. After several murders of teenage women were committed by illegal immigrants, there was more support for the deportation of all illegal immigrants currently in the country. According to Tapper’s logic, these people, including 53 percent of Hispanics and other population groups are “Nazi sympathizers.”
The open border is the biggest insult to legal immigrants, because legal immigrants came to America legally; some waited months, some waited years, but they came in legally. They were not given Advantages for the wait that many illegal immigrants in New York City are currently receiving. As a media person, Tapper should know what the polls say about minority support for illegal immigration. He should know that at least half the country, including 42 percent of Democrats support the mass deportation of illegal immigrants.
Tapper should come out of his cocoon and return to the real world to find out why Americans are against illegal immigration – then maybe he will learn a thing or two.
As for Thursday’s debate, we hope it won’t be a one-sided 3-on-1 matchup, but rather a one-on-one matchup between Trump and Biden. Hopefully, this could lead to a political discussion where voters can see what policies they support and who they think should lead the country for the next four years.
