Former Biden opponents talk about how to debate him, what will upset him and how he declined

There has been much speculation about the upcoming debate between Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump next Friday. Biden will reportedly be at Camp David preparing until then.

There have been all sorts of leaks from the Biden team, and I don’t think they’ve been good for the team. One was that we could expect “surprises” about his “substantive and physical performance.” Other reports suggested that he was going to be more aggressive and call Trump a “convicted felon,” probably in the hope that this would provoke Trump.

As I said, I don’t think that will work or provoke Trump, and he should just blame the issue on Biden’s failings. There were even reports that he practiced mock debates and stood for 90 minutes.

If you have to practice standing up for 90 minutes, this can simply be a problem.

But it’s true that Biden doesn’t like being challenged and is very easily irritated. We’ve seen this many times before, including when he berates voters when he doesn’t like what they have to say to him. He has berated voters, calling one “fat” and even calling one a “dog-faced pony soldier.” And he doesn’t think he works for us, as he revealed in this March 10, 2020 video.

Now former opponents of Joe Biden Serving about what they think and what Trump can do.

“I was trying to piss him off. He has a short fuse. And that was our whole strategy,” said John M. Burris, a former majority leader of the Delaware House of Representatives who lost to Biden in the 1984 U.S. Senate race. […]

“When someone like Trump comes at you, it can make Joe really angry and upset,” added Burris, 78.

Burris is friends with Biden and said he does not believe he should run.

“I don’t want Joe to run because I care about him. I want him to go home and enjoy his legacy instead of waiting another four years. It’s just such a grueling job,” Burris said. “He’s the same guy, but not quite as fast.”

“It’s not going to be very pleasant to watch,” Burris sighed. “I think Trump will try to make Joe look old, and he won’t be able to handle the facts and the pressure.”

Wow, a Democrat who is actually forthright and cares about Biden. Too bad there aren’t others like him. And now that he’s admitted Biden is “not quite as fast,” you can watch him get kicked out of the Biden orbit, if he’s still in it.

And then there was Jane Brady, a former prosecutor and later attorney general of Delaware, who Biden ran against in 1990. She is a Republican and believes he has gone downhill.

“I watched a clip from the debate he had with Trump four years ago, and you don’t even see the same person as four years ago. That’s pretty clear to people,” Brady said.

Brady suggested that Trump should be patient, let Biden speak and try to explain himself.

“I think he’s going to have a hard time getting clarity on the issues he’s talking about.” That’s a good point too: The more Biden talks, the more confusion there will be. They’ve prepared him so well that everything will probably be jumbled in his head.

Both points are great: letting him ramble and challenging him in a way that’s guaranteed to make him freak out. The more he talks, the crazier he’s likely to get, and the more people who maybe don’t watch him as often as we do are likely to notice.
