CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – Former West Virginia Delegate Marshall Wilson has officially qualified for the November ballot as the Constitution Party’s candidate in the race for Governor of West Virginia.
Wilson needed 8,000 signatures from registered voters to reach the minimum number. Last week he was 2,000 tiny. On Tuesday afternoon, he delivered the additional signatures he needed to Secretary of State Mac Warner’s office.
“Former infantry officer and combat veteran of the U.S. Army. And of course I did a lot of walking in the infantry, but I walked a lot further than that, knocking on doors, meeting people, going to events, collecting signatures, talking to people about what I believe in, why and who I am, and answering their tough questions. And I literally wore out three pairs of boots,” Wilson said of his efforts to collect signatures.
Marshall Wilson will run in the November 5 general election alongside Democratic candidate for mayor of Huntington, Steve Williams, and Republican candidate for West Virginia Attorney General, Patrick Morrisey.
