Freak-Out: Kamala voters in MI panic and threaten to leave US if Trump wins

Canada certainly seems to be a popular destination for Americans who suddenly find themselves in a situation where leaving the United States is a good idea – at least in their fevered imagination. The problem is that these people, who are almost exclusively creatures of the crazy left (yes, I know, that’s a redundancy), almost never follow through on their threats.

On Friday, Politico gave us some examples from Michigan – and these people are crazy.

“Oh God, she has to win: I don’t want to live in a Trumpian hellscape,” said Erin Conklin, a 62-year-old housewife and retired artist. “Maybe we have to go: Canada, if they take us.”

Gabriela Jelinek, a 32-year-old marketer from Grand Rapids who was attending meetings at her job while waiting for the rally in the park, said she started thinking about how she would survive a Trump victory.

“Honestly, I thought about leaving the country,” she said. “I was also thinking about marrying a friend to protect my assets as a single woman.”

Why?

“Like a male friend – to make sure my life is protected because I feel like we’re going to have times where we need male permission for everything.”

Talk about Koo-Koo for Cocoa Puffs. Admittedly, I don’t know Gabriela Jelinek from Sydney Sweeney, but if I had the choice, I’m pretty sure I’d rather spend an evening in the company of the charming Miss Sweeney than with the distraught woman (I’m sure she’s passing by ). “Mrs”) Jelinek. But that argument, their assumption that a second Trump administration would somehow result in them facing Saudi-style restrictions — that’s not rational even within the range of an ICBM.

And Jelinek wasn’t the only one threatening to move to the Great White North, Politico wrote:

Mary Harig, a 64-year-old retired nurse wearing a T-shirt that read “Cat Ladies for Kamala,” was even more advanced in her conversations with her husband, who had worked as a postal worker not long before him retire.

“We’re close enough to Canada,” Harig said. “And my husband also said, ‘We can’t put up with this for another four years.’ And if that happens, we will go to Canada.”

I’ll make a prediction here: They won’t go to Canada. They are, as the saying goes, simply blowing smoke into a particular opening.

That’s kind of a shame, because if all the crazy leftists who routinely threaten to run in Canada every presidential election actually did so, not only would the median IQ and average mental health of the United States rise dramatically, but so would the Elections would dramatically raise and suddenly become a slam dunk for conservative candidates. Now Canada would have to take in all these crazy panicked lunatics, but Canada already seems to have an abundance of such people. Interestingly, Canada is already producing welcome videos for expats.

However, these people will not flee to Canada, as satisfying as that may be for the rest of us. They will still be here in 2028, after (we hope) Trump’s second term, if none of their dire predictions have come true. That won’t stop them from making the same dire predictions about a possible victory for JD Vance or Ron DeSantis or whoever the Republicans are running in 2028 – and it won’t stop them from making the same dire threats they’re fleeing could Canada. They’ll still be in their deep blue urban enclaves screaming about the coming “Handmaid’s Tale” hellscape the Republicans want to put them in in 2032, 2036, 2040, etc. Bet on it.

All I can say to these people is: enough talk. Either stand up or shut up. Run to Canada and be done with it; we won’t miss you.
