Rubio will face massive opposition from the establishment left that has dominated the place for at least half a century. Implementing this policy requires diligence and ruthlessness.

The up-to-date director added that he wants to return the agency to its “core mission” of protecting the nation and move away from the “politicization of intelligence…”[which] It really started under John Brennan’s administration.”

ATF reportedly ignores Trump’s DEI Executive Order

We saw no tolerance at the ATF for good faith mistakes made by FFL holders, so I see no reason to automatically try to grant them a reprieve.

There is an air battle over Hegseth

I like it.

This is how we should play the game all the time.

We are sure that most of them The Daily Shows The programming will soon revert to humorless left-wing scolds, but for a brief, shining moment, Comedy Central has made comedy great again.

WHAT’S UPCOMING?

Today on Capitol Hill…

There may not be any hearings or meetings scheduled on the Hill on Friday, but there will be some: After a 51-49 vote to initiate cloture (with two Republicans – Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME ) – (vote with the Democrats) on Thursday the Senate will vote on the nomination of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense on Friday evening expected schedule (If the Democrats drag everything out as long as possible):

Fortunately, John Ratcliffe was confirmed and sworn in as CIA director on Thursday. And the House of Representatives passed two bills: the Fix our forest law and the Live Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

What’s going on in the White House?

President Donald Trump will travel to western North Carolina on Friday and then to Los Angeles, California, to survey damage from the hurricanes and wildfires. The latest News is that California Governor Gavin Newsom plans to be there to greet Trump when he arrives in LA. That…could be fascinating. Trump is also expected to visit Nevada.

Friday also happens to be the March for Life in DC. While Trump won’t be there, he pardoned 23 pro-life protesters on Thursday.

Full court press…

On Thursday, a federal judge in Seattle, Washington, issued a preliminary injunction regarding Trump’s executive order on birthright. Similar cases are pending in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

UPCOMING ATTRACTIONS

Once the Hegseth vote is complete, the clock will begin ticking for Kristi Noem as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. A confirmation vote on her is expected sometime this weekend.

The hearing on the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be Secretary of Health and Human Services will take place on January 29 before the Senate Finance Committee. He will then appear before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on January 30.

Also on the 29th: Howard Lutnick (Secretary of Commerce) and Kelly Loeffler (SBA Administrator). And Kash Patel’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee is now scheduled for January 30.

Something else to look forward to: Hamas is expected to release the list of four female hostages scheduled to be released this weekend, as well as a list of the remaining 26 (and whether they are dead or alive) from Phase 1 of the deal. Pray.

Morning rumination

Like many others, I was excited by the many executive actions Trump took upon his return to the Oval Office, but I was disappointed and a little concerned to learn that pardons for pro-lifers like Bevelyn Williams were not among the first orders signed. And I am beyond ecstatic that on this day, the March for Life, we can celebrate, that these pardons have been signed, and that Bevelyn (and others) are now reunited with their families. God is good.

LIGHTER COST

Done!
