We’re going to go after them for what they did. But we’ve got five weeks left in this race, folks. Let’s face it: We’re not going to let CNN distract us from our mission.”

Regarding the departures of campaign staff, Robinson said in the same interview that he was in the process of hiring novel staff and was confident that they would facilitate him win in November.
As we have previously documented, Robinson has enjoyed a meteoric rise in North Carolina politics since a speech on gun rights he gave to a city council in 2018 as a private citizen went viral. However, since becoming the Republican nominee in March, he has faced an uphill battle against his Democratic opponent, North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein, trailing him in most polls, including some which shows that he is behind by double digits.
Of course, North Carolina voters will ultimately decide Robinson’s political fate. But if history is any indicator, the lieutenant governor will not go down without a fight.
