I don’t think Kamala Harris’ campaign wants to show her the numbers that Gallup just released. Apparently she’s pretty nasty with her staff, and anyone who gives her that will probably have their head ripped off.
The poll’s findings included the popularity of former President Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
Guess who was more popular? Hint: It wasn’t Harris.
Trump is more popular than Harris in the Gallup poll. https://t.co/M8VvMNshaI

The poll found that 46 percent have a favorable opinion of Trump, while 53 percent have an unfavorable opinion. Since August, his popularity has increased by five points and his dissatisfaction has decreased by two points. He is more popular now than he was in 2016 or 2020.
Harris, on the other hand, has 44 percent approval and 54 percent disapproval. Since August, her approval has dropped by three points, while her disapproval has increased by five points.
So much for her momentum in the debate. If anything, it looks like he got the momentum. She’s on the decline and he’s on the rise.
Both are still underwater, and that’s not good. But Trump has a nine-point lead among independents, which is positive.
This is consistent with what we saw from observing the reactions of independents during the debate; they were more aligned with what Trump said.

In the Gallup poll, Trump is leading 44 to 53 among independents, while Harris has just 35 percent approval and 60 percent disapproval. She is 25 percentage points underperforming among the independents she desperately needs to have a chance.
If these numbers persist until the election, she would be in gigantic trouble.
That’s what happened in the 2020 primaries. The more people saw of her, the more they turned up their noses at her. Now that she’s still playing these games about her politics, people don’t trust her and don’t know what she would do.
Biden’s permit is 39 percent overall, and 31 percent among independents. That’s based on Harris’ record, which Harris is a gigantic part of. So Republicans need to make sure she can’t just avoid that and pretend she’s something “new.” But the numbers aren’t looking good for her here. Also, it’s pretty clear that people don’t believe what seems to be the Democrats’ only gimmick, which is that Trump is somehow Hitler. It looks like that narrative is failing.
That’s absolutely consistent with the conversations I’ve had across the country this month. Harris needs to change that. Nobody knows who she is or what she stands for, and she’s losing trust. https://t.co/o2nrDCrMiM

The problem is that she doesn’t lend a hand herself.
Even in the most controlled environments and despite the granting of all advantages, the more she talks… https://t.co/Ju63cImcka

Kamala’s popularity numbers are starting to drop. Look at the independent voter numbers! That’s why they’re trying to hide her. The more people see her, the less they like her. https://t.co/23pwjHnDEJ
