Washington (AP) – Dean of the Georgetown Law School on Thursday has rejected an unusual warning of the Top Bundesanwalts for Washington, DC, that his office will not stop the private school students if it does not eliminate any programs for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Dean William Treanor informed the official US lawyer Ed Martin that the government’s first amendment to change prohibits dictating what Georgetown’s faculty teaches or how to teach them.

“In view of the protection of the freedom of a university to determine its own curriculum, and how to deliver it, the constitutional violation behind this threat is clear, as is the attack on the university’s mission as Jesuits and Catholic institution,” wrote Treeanor in a letter directed to Martin.

Martin’s exchange with the dean is not the first time that the conservative activist used his office as a platform for the parlotting of the political priorities of the Republican President who gave him the job in January.

Martin, who described himself as one of President Donald Trump’s lawyers, was pouring out his office by dismissing the lawyers on January 6, 2021 and roaming the Trump supporters.

His “investigation letter” on Georgetown is also with Trump’s agenda. On his first day in the White House, Trump signed an executive regulation that DEI ended programs in the federal government.

In a letter dated February 17, but on March 3 by e -mail to the Dean, Martin said, a whistleblower, told him that Georgetown Law School “continues to promote and teach”.

“This is unacceptable,” he wrote.

Martin warned the dean that his office would not consider law students in Georgetown for jobs, summer internships or scholarships if his “letter of examination” was solved to the programs.

Treanor said Georgetown “founded on the principle that a serious and persistent discourse among people of different beliefs, cultures and beliefs promotes intellectual, ethically and mentally understanding.”

“Her letter challenges Georgetown’s ability to define our mission as an educational institution,” he wrote.

Treanor concluded the letter with the letter: “We look forward to your confirmation that all candidates connected by Georgetown will receive complete and fair exam for dealing with your office.”

Also on Thursday, democratic members of the Senate Justice Committee asked the office of disciplinary lawyer in Washington to examine their “serious concern” that Martin may have been involved in professional misconduct since taking office. In a letter to the office, the Senators Martin accused his position of repeatedly abused, including the “threat of law enforcement to intimidate government employees and to cool the speech of private individuals”.

“Lord. Martin’s behavior speaks not only for his fitness as a lawyer; his activities are part of President Trump’s more comprehensive behavior and his allies in order to undermine the traditional independence of investigations and law enforcement authorities of the Ministry of Justice and the rule of law,” wrote the senators.

A spokesman for Martin’s office did not comment on the Georgetown letters and did not answer a separate request for comments on the letter from the senators.
