Revenge was sweet for former President Donald Trump on Election Day, bringing the battleground state of Georgia back into the fold of the GOP at the presidential level in a race that saw record voter turnout despite false claims from the likes of Stacey Abrams and Stacey Abrams of the Peach State recorded others claiming that Republicans in Georgia were “suppressing” the vote.

While there were no Senate elections in Georgia this year, there will be one in 2026 involving Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff, who took office after winning the runoff election against Senator David Perdue (R) on January 5, 2021, which helped give Democrats control of the Senate in the process.
Although Ossoff hasn’t made much noise since his election, he has a solid left-wing voting record on issues like abortion and LGBTQ “rights,” positioning himself firmly in the “progressive“Wing of his party.
However, he recently misled Jewish leaders in Georgia with the way he voted on resolutions pushed by far-left Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). restrict some arms sales to Israel:
On Wednesday, Georgia Reps. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock joined 17 other Democratic U.S. senators in voting for a resolution from Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders that would block the sale of some weapons to Israel.
According to Ossoff, the failed resolution would have accounted for less than 5% of the American weapons likely to flow to Israel over the next three years.
The Georgia Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Georgia) released a statement on Thursday he praised the senators.
Israel’s Consul General Anat Sultan-Dadon was not content about this it said:
Anat Sultan-Dadon has become one of Atlanta’s most respected diplomats since her appointment as Israel’s consul general in 2019. She has worked to cultivate relationships across the party spectrum, forging connections with both senior Republicans and Democrats.
So her opinion criticize this weekend US Senator Jon Ossoff — Georgia’s first Jewish U.S. senator — over his vote on the doomed effort to restrict ammunition sales to Israel was an added blow.
“Expressing your criticism of Israel – an allied democracy – by voting against it during an existential war over a core national security interest is deeply troubling,” Sultan-Dadon wrote, adding that the defeat of Israel’s enemies “common necessity for all” should be a free world.”
Additionally, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution noted: “About 50 from Georgia most important Jewish organizations wrote an openness letter last week he attacked his support for the failed measures…”
Ossoff was also in attendance along with his colleague, Senator Raphael Warnock reprimanded from the only Jewish member of the Georgia Statehouse:
The votes could impact both senators’ future political prospects — Georgia is among the most purple-voting states in the country and has a significant Jewish population in the Atlanta area. Ossoff, who won by around 50,000 votes in 2020, is up for re-election in 2026. Both senators are also considered potential Democratic presidential candidates.
“Last night’s votes contradict Senator Ossoff’s claims [an] “iron-clad” commitment to and unwavering support of Israel, with the aim of punishing Israel and thereby weakening a democratically elected government at a critical time.” [Democrat Rep. Esther Panitch] said in a statement Jewish Insider.
It is arduous to estimate how much impact this issue will have in 2026, especially if the war between Israel and Hamas is over by then and Israel is in an even stronger position. But after the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, and what followed, I suspect that Jewish voters will not easily forget a member of Congress who voted to restrict arms sales in Israel’s time of need.
FLASHBACK: The devil has come to Georgia – and is beating up Joe Biden
