GOP announces “Protect the Vote” initiative to ensure fair and transparent elections and prevent electoral fraud by Democrats

There remains a great deal of dissatisfaction surrounding the 2020 elections, not only with the outcome but also with the manner in which these elections were conducted in many jurisdictions and the perception that they were rigged.

The Republican National Committee is determined to prevent any mischief this year. To that end, they have launched a “Protect the election“Tour aimed at promoting election accuracy and transparency and increasing (Republican) voter turnout.

The launch of the Protect the Vote Tour is a critical step in our mission to ensure fair and transparent elections. Led by RNC Chair Michael Whatley and RNC Co-Chair Lara Trump, this nationwide initiative will recruit poll watchers, poll workers, and legal experts to mobilize during the 2024 election season. The Protect the Vote Tour will advocate for election integrity, mobilize voters for President Trump, and train volunteers to ensure it is easy to vote and fraud is hard in November.

Here is the purpose and the plan:

  • The Protect the Vote Tour is part of the RNC initiative, Recruit 100,000 Election observers, election workers and legal experts before the election.
  • In the lead-up to Election Day, we are taking every legal step to ensure our elections are secure, transparent and build voter confidence. Our trained and dedicated poll observers, poll workers and legal experts will monitor every vote cast and vote count this election.
  • Democrats across the country have promoted election systems vulnerable to fraud, encouraged non-citizens to vote, and used our tax dollars for their GOTV activities. Instead of changing their failed policies, they have focused on undermining election integrity efforts.

It should come as no surprise that I have some questions.

First, the efforts to recruit and deploy poll watchers, poll workers, etc. are commendable. Our elections have been the subject of a lot of (justified) skepticism over the last few election cycles. However, much of this skepticism is due to the exploit of automated voting machines, which are used not only to cast votes but also to count votes. What plans are in place to deal with these automated machines, validate them, and ensure that inputs and outputs are verified and right?

Second, what are the plans to correct the failed policies? How does the RNC plan to correct the policies in Democratic-controlled districts?

Third and finally, what plans does the RNC have to promote the so-called “bank the vote” program – in other words, to get Republicans in districts where that option exists to vote early? If Democrats are doing it, I guess Republicans should try to capitalize on it too (hah).

In such endeavours, I agree with you that every effort is worthwhile if it promotes right, fair and transparent elections, particularly in the counting of votes.

We’ve already seen that Democrats and the left will do anything to prevent the Trump sequel, “Trump 2 – This Time It’s Personal.” And we can probably expect this kind of fight from now on; Pandora’s box has been opened and the first little leprechaun to show his face outside the box is called “Lawfare.” This initiative, this “Protect the Vote” tour, is good, but fixing our system requires offensive, not just defensive, maneuvers. Push harder for voter ID laws. Remove illegal immigrants from the census for reapportionment. Should Trump win in November and should the House and Senate fall into Republican hands, these things should be worked out and ready by the first day of the recent Congress; the Speaker of the House should have to do nothing more than bang his gavel and shout “GO!”

The defense is good. The reaction is good. But we also have to be proactive. The best defense is a good attack!
