It hasn’t been a good day for Kamala Harris. On Wednesday night, she appeared in a widely watched Fox News interview with Bret Baier in which she appeared defensive, evasive and combative. Meanwhile, Christopher Rufo, the describes himself An “author, filmmaker and activist,” she was arrested for plagiarizing parts of the 2009 book she co-authored, “Smart on Crime.”
The lame-duck media largely ignored the story — because “Orange Man Bad” and “Extremist Progressive Good” — but the New York Times dutifully singled out an expert who said, well, no massive deal. First they said, “Conservative activist seizes passages from Harris Book,” then they quote the expert as claiming, “The errors weren’t that serious,” and then they basically called Rufo a racist for pointing out Harris’ cheating methods had.
Our Fourth Estate at work, friends.
Sister Toldjah and RedState’s Brad Slager contributed to the story:
Kamala’s plagiarism scandal highlights the solemn ethical breach in so many of our institutions
Sad Trumpet: The New York Times is not handling the Kamala Harris plagiarism news well at all
New: Chris Rufo leaves ‘receipts’ on Kamala’s alleged ‘plagiarism problem’ and JD Vance has an opinion
And so the corrupt media and the incompetent candidate thought, “Phew!” Another potential scandal was swept away. Another story that if it were about a Republican would be on the front page of 90 percent of the newspapers in this country should go.
Aside from Rufo claiming the Times withheld information from the so-called expert:
The New York Times withheld key evidence from its “expert” and was caught because that expert could speak directly to the public. Imagine how much more common this was before Twitter/X. https://t.co/KFlrJ1sSSm

This caused the analyst, a man named Jonathan Bailey, to rethink his analysis and realize: Oops, this is worse than I thought. Writing on Tuesday in PlagiarismToday (Did you know such an outlet existed? I didn’t know), Bailey explained [emphasis mine]:
With this novel information, while I believe the case is more solemn than I commented to the New York Timesthe overarching points remain. Although there are problems with this work, the pattern suggests sloppy writing habits and not malicious intent to defraud.
Is it problematic? Yes. But it’s not the mass fraud that many claim. It’s somewhere between what the two sides want.
Vice President Kamala Harris is accused of plagiarizing her 2009 book. Here’s a look at what these claims actually say.https://t.co/GyKm0CyGg7#Plagiarism #KamalaHarris #Book

He still clings to his moronic words and language that gets him out of prison – he knows where his left bread is buttered – but his conclusions are still pretty damning.
He then refutes a number of Rufo’s claims – but even he can’t refute them all.
From then on, the allegations become more solemn.
The most solemn accusation concerns Wikipedia. Harris’ book contained approximately two paragraphs copied from Wikipedia without attribution. To be clear: This is plagiarism. To make matters worse, Wikipedia is not typically considered a reliable source and, according to Weber, there was an error in the information.
The section cites and cites a passage from the US Bureau of Justice Assistance, but does not indicate that Wikipedia was used.
“Let me be clear: This is plagiarism.” Then he said it out deafening. Then he goes on again to disguise and downplay Kamala’s intentions and make favorable assumptions about Kamala’s intentions, but the core still remains at the center of the avocado: Kamala Harris stole other people’s work and gave them no credit for it. Many careers have been ruined for less money (see none other than Joe Biden, 1987), but in today’s environment of a dishonest press, it is likely that many voters on the left have not even heard of these allegations.
It’s unbelievable how corrupt this is @nytimes Is. From the Gaza hospital hoax, the hiring of left-wing activists as reporters, and now this:

“Jonathan Bailey, a plagiarism consultant in New Orleans and editor of Plagiarism Today, said Monday that his initial reaction to Mr. Rufo’s allegations was that the errors were not serious given the size of the document.”
When even a New York Times “expert” flatly says that “this is plagiarism,” the issue should be the center of the country’s attention — as it inevitably would be if Donald Trump or any other conservative did so would be caught cheating. Unfortunately, that’s not the world we live in, but we at RedState won’t stop reminding you that Kamala Harris is now… a confirmed plagiarist.
RedState will continue to bring you the challenging truth, unlike the corrupt mainstream media.
