Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom should really learn not to hire someone who is clearly out of his league. Granted, the list of people in public and private life who are out of Newsom’s league would make “War and Peace” look like a cartoon, but still. The impeccably coiffed governor of California has one thing in common with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: Both men have great hair without much underneath.
But when Gov. Newsom turned his attention away from his burning state on Thursday to take a low-cost shot in a video message to Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, he got a great lesson in what it’s like to be buried in invective.
First, the speaker he himself answered.
Instead of creating highly produced clap-back videos with social media influencers, get to work and support Californians.
You are the leader of a state in crisis and you should finally start acting like it. https://t.co/ipKHFse0kU

Things went downhill for Newsom from there. Admittedly, the empty governor has the ability to smile past his problems:
Gavin Newsom is more concerned about his image than the people of California. pic.twitter.com/nsMNwYeGue

Now, it’s fair to say that Gavin Newsom isn’t the only California politician whose acumen – not to mention intelligence – is in question, prompting another X-Wag to draw a comparison to three notable California historical figures.
All 3 are incompetent! pic.twitter.com/x0BYLGp7T7

Then some more stern criticisms were raised; To be fair, there are plenty of stern criticisms that could be made when discussing this fundamentally untrustworthy governor.
@GavinNewsom – No. YOU are endangering Californians by prioritizing illegals and your boondoggle projects over citizens.
– They continued a long line of failed governors who didn’t bother to provide adequate fire protection.
– You still haven’t invested any money in…
– NH/Wynter/FTW (@WynterythTX) January 16, 2025
The post continued:
Warning: harsh language
– They still haven’t put any money into infrastructure, such as repairing dams and reservoirs.
– They helped delay the Prop 1 bond projects
So sit down and close your greaseball trap, Gavin. You are a disgrace.
This disaster is entirely the fault of the Governor of California. His complete ineptitude and arrogance in land and water management is a travesty and he should be held accountable and the people of California should demand his removal from office.

It is a gross understatement to say that there are a lot of ways around the wildfires that are destroying California homes and businesses at a horrendous rate. Among Governor Newsom, Mayor Bass, and the Clown Car residents who make up the state’s leadership (and I utilize the term “leadership” in its broadest sense), they all bear responsibility for this act of unlawful carnal knowledge by a member of the species Capra. But honestly, after the many blows Newsom has now taken, and given that he (unfortunately) has obvious presidential ambitions for 2028, one would think he would be discreetly cautious now of all times.
But then, as my grandfather liked to say, “You can teach them, but you can’t learn them.”
