Kamala Harris’ campaign has raised over $1 billion in donations, with a significant portion coming through the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue. But what if much of that money came from foreign countries like Iran, Russia, China and Venezuela?

House Republicans want to know, and they will know on Wednesday subpoenaed the outfit and requested documents and further information:

Chairman of the House Administration Committee Bryan Steep (R-Wis.) issued a subpoena on Wednesday to ActBlue, a popular Democratic fundraising platform that has raised record donations for the Harris campaign.

According to a press release, the subpoena concerns the possible operate of the platform to influence US elections through illegal money laundering.

Steil gave the platform until November 6th to respond. Of course, this will not impact the current election, but there will be future votes that we need to protect.

“We cannot allow foreign actors to influence our elections through campaign financing. The committee’s investigation revealed that foreign actors may be exploiting ActBlue’s inadequate security protocols,” Steil said in the release.

“To ensure that foreign money is not laundered through ActBlue, we request a number of documents and communications related to donor security and verification policies. Preventing foreign interference in U.S. elections has been my top priority as chairman and this next step in our investigation is critical to achieving that goal,” he added.

Former House Speaker New Gingrich commented on this an article in the New York Sun:

The next ad you see for Ms. Harris may have been purchased with Iranian, Chinese or drug cartel money…

It should not surprise us that Iran, China, Russia, and transnational crime syndicates in South and Central America may be poised to exploit the weaknesses of the American political fundraising system.

Everyone has a vested interest in a Harris presidency. They know that Ms. Harris would be much gentler and easier to deal with than President Trump.

ActBlue raises donations in petite dollars, but they add up – they have donated over $1.5 billion from about 7 million donors for Democrats over the course of 19,000 campaigns. Harris came over 200 million dollars alone in the first days of their election campaign.

Gingrich warns that circumventing the law poses a real danger to the system:

ActBlue owes it to every American to open their books and facilitate us find out which donations were fraudulent. The Harris campaign and the other campaigns would then be obligated to repay the illegal donations. This may be a real crisis in the American system of self-government.

Using all bogus information, including a bogus name and credit card, ActBlue accepted a bogus donation of $2,000. My source then tested the same theory with WinRed and the bogus donation was rejected.
