I didn’t know that Hulk Hogan had embarked on a second career as a political forecaster, but we can assume that his estimates are as good as anyone else’s at this point – although you’d forgive me if I put more emphasis on someone like him : let’s say, Dr. Victor Davis Hanson. But the Hulkster has his own opinion about how the 2024 presidential election will turn out, and he predicts one Trump’s landslide.
The wrestling icon caused quite a stir when he spoke at the event Republican National Conventionin which he advocated for the former president to “let Trumpamania run again.” Since then, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, has been traveling around the country promoting his up-to-date beer brand and has discovered in his travels that “everyone is for Trump.”
“So I hear what you’re saying about the polls, and it’s even – Steven, and it might be close, but let me tell you something: I don’t believe the polls,” Hogan said on Fox News One Nation with Brian Kilmeade. “It will be a landslide. Too big to manipulate, brother, is the issue here, and at the end of the day, all of America wants to go back to America. Not the way it used to be, but the way it should be, brother.”
Well, there’s only one thing wrong with this argument: not all of America wants to “go back” to America. The wealthy coastal elites, the ivory tower academics, the government employee unions, the dependent classes—they would prefer not to return to an America that was an epitome of individual freedom and personal achievement. But I think Hogan is right; Many of us would like to “go back to America,” even if it is just an America of four years ago.
Again, I wouldn’t mind paying $2 for a gallon of gas.
Hogan also spoke Trump’s appearance at the Al Smith dinnerwhich he praised for Trump’s various jokes, including one aimed at “white guys for Harris.” In addition to Trump’s comedic skills, Hogan also praised Trump’s business experience, claiming, “That’s what this country needs.”
“We want God in our homes, in our schools and in our country,” Hogan said. “Fundamentally we want security, we fundamentally want to live a great life and we want to be able to economically afford to live a good life and provide for our children. Trump is all about that. All I hear on the other side is supposed to be hope and joy, to me it all sounds like doom and gloom.”
Personally, I want to be left alone and live my life as I see fit. But I think there’s room for it in the America the Hulkster describes. And it looks more and more like Donald Trump will be sitting at the Resolute Desk in America for the next four years. And who knows, if everything goes well, we will have a President Vance afterward – and perhaps later a President DeSantis. Okay, maybe I’m leaning a little too far into the foxhole here, but the world has no shortage of windmills to push against.
Hogan doesn’t describe exactly how he defines “landslide.” I think a Trump victory by over 300 votes in the Electoral College is very plausible, and that’s probably within “mandate territory” depending on how Congress does, but I wouldn’t call it a “landslide.”

However, his predictions aside, I think Hulk Hogan, for all his theatrics, might be on to something here. As noted, the Democrats have long been a party that represents a few noisy, obnoxious special interests, and many regular people are fed up with it. I know it’s me. We are tired of being constantly lectured about our “carbon footprint”. Us gray-haired ancient white dudes are ailing of hearing that we’re racist, sexist homophobes. Young white guys are fed up too, and they are Break with conservatism at an ever increasing pace. We’re tired of being called “transphobic” because we don’t want youthful guys playing on our daughters’ and granddaughters’ sports teams — and sharing their locker rooms and showers with us. We are tired of being called racists for legitimately criticizing liberal politicians who are people of color.
We’re just ailing of it all, and we have a feeling Donald Trump might be ailing of it too.
Look, many people – like me – just want to go about our daily business, live our lives, make a living and not be disturbed. The Democrats seem to constantly want to harass us. That’s one of the reasons why they’re losing this election, and maybe Mr. Hogan is right – maybe this issue will be more crucial than it looks.
We’ll find out soon enough.
