It is clear that many black Americans are beginning to turn their backs on the Democratic Party. After decades of taking their loyalty for granted, many are fed up with a party that continually claims to represent their cause while doing little to earn their support.
Content creator Trey Quinn, also known as “The Strong Dad,” expressed the frustration many black men feel toward Democrats when he criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for refusing to put forward a policy agenda. In a recent video, he took aim at Harris and others who claim that black people should demand the vice president lay out their policy agenda.
“Now I just feel disrespected,” Quinn begins. “We’re at a point in the campaign where black people are being told not to ask about politics, that questions about politics shouldn’t matter. You should just support someone because they’re black and a woman.”
Quinn went on to say that Democrats have failed to address the problems facing black Americans.
“As for the Democrats, because like I said, I’m not going to vote for Trump. As for the Democrats, I’m not going to vote for them because they didn’t accomplish their goals. During Obama’s term… a Democratic term, I watched an entire city, an entire black neighborhood, completely gentrified under Democratic legislators, under Democratic leadership. I’ve lived through a Democratic president that they told us not to worry about politics and just vote for him. I watched him sign a law that gave police immunity, gave the Sinaloa cartel free reign in black communities and decimated their communities with illegal drugs and weapons. As a former convict, I watched Democratic legislators, judges, politicians support and incarcerate men like me for things that we shouldn’t have been incarcerated for or that increased our sentences.”
Quinn accused Democrats of “doing things they say Republicans might do to us” and talked about how cities like Baltimore have suffered under Democratic rule.
“It wasn’t just the Republican leadership, it was the Democratic leadership. They don’t want us to unite. They want us to unite with other communities. Then those other communities get their benefits. Those other communities get preferential treatment. Those other communities get represented. In the meantime, we sit in the streets and protest. We are bombarded with rhetoric that says we can’t be for black people unless we are for them. That’s what comes with the Democratic ideology, with liberalism.”

In another post, Quinn expressed a similar sentiment, criticizing members of the media for resorting to Trump’s fearmongering when asked about Harris’ policies.
The answer to the question “What are your policies?” should be a list of your policies.
However, there should not be a fear reaction to Trump’s statements.
PAWN BLACKS who respond with “what about” questions are the same traitors who danced for Joe Biden and accepted NOTHING in return for their vote. https://t.co/OgD44Fva0z

Quinn’s arguments were apparently aimed at people like comedian Steve Harvey, who rejected to ask Harris complex questions when he interviewed her in June.
“Now before you call my radio show and DM me explaining why you didn’t ask hard questions, that’s not what this is about,” Harvey said. “I’m throwing a lob. This is an alley-oop for a dunk. Because this administration needs to make it known what it’s actually doing and what it’s actually accomplishing so we can stop all this nonsense about ‘What are you doing for black people?'”
Harris has been courting black voters since shortly after her Democratic nomination, and she recently appeared in black media while visiting areas with huge black populations.
A recent Reuters/Ipsos According to one poll, Harris is polling at about 70 percent among black voters, which is better than Biden’s numbers but still well below the support Democratic candidates have enjoyed in recent years.
