Washington (AP) – Eric Hildenbrand has noticed that prices will continue to augment with President Donald Trump in the White House this year. He does not accuse Trump, his choice for the president in 2024, but says that governor Gavin Newsom and other Democrats who control his home state of California are to blame.
“You cannot compare California with the rest of the country,” said Hildenbrand, who is 76 years aged and lives in San Diego. “I don’t know what’s going on in the rest of the country. It seems like prices are falling. Things get better, but I don’t necessarily see it here.”
Voters such as Hildenbrand, whose support for the Republican President is steadfast, aid to explain Trump’s election figures and how to differ significantly from the election railway from other presidents. A survey by the Associated Press Norc Center for Public Affairs in March showed that 42% of adults in the United States approved Trump’s work. This is a lower assessment than that of other youngest presidents at the beginning of their second term, including Democrat Barack Obama and Republican George W. Bush.
The latest AP-NORC survey from July will bring Trump with a permit of 40%. Although this is not a sensible change compared to March, there is some evidence that Trump’s support could be at least marginally softer. The survey in July showed a slight decline in the consent of his immigration since the beginning of the year. Some other survey such as Gallup showed a general approval of the overall permit in January for a little earlier during his term.
But even these shifts are in a relatively narrow area, which is typical of Trump. The novel AP-NORC Polling tracker shows that Trump’s favorability evaluation has remained largely constant since the end of his first term, and between 33% and 43% of the US-growing gifts to look at it positively for more than five years.
These long -term trends underline that Trump has many steadfast opponents. However, faithful supporters also aid to explain why the President’s views are arduous to change, even if he pursues guidelines that most Americans do not support, whereby an approach that many find abrasively is used.
Persistently low consent of Trump’s work performance
Trump had no conventional honeymoon period in his second term. He didn’t do it in his first.
An AP-NORC survey, which was held in March 2017, two months after the beginning of its first term, showed that 42% of the Americans said goodbye to his performance “something” or “strong”. His approval rate remained here over the next four years.
The latest slipping to immigration is particularly essential because this problem in the 2024 elections was a great strength for Trump. At the beginning of his second term, it was also one of the few areas in which he exceeded his general approval. In March, about half of the US -growing people approved his immigration envelope. The AP-NORC survey in July, however, revealed its consent to the immigration of 43%, according to its general approval rate.
Other recent surveys show growing dissatisfaction with Trump’s approach to immigration. A CNN/SSRS survey showed that 55% of the US -growing say that the president went too far when it comes to deporting immigrants who live illegally in the United States, which has increased by 10 percentage points since February.
“I understand that I want to get rid of illegal immigrants, but the way that is done is very aggressive,” said Donovan Baldwin, 18, from Asheboro, North Carolina, who was not elected in the 2024 elections. “And that’s why people protest because it comes as aggression. It is not right.”
The reviews of Trump’s dealings with the economy, which were more positive during its first term, were constantly negative during his second term. The survey in July showed that only a few Americans believe that Trump’s politics has so far benefited them.
Even if he is not a fan of everything that Trump has done so far, Brian Nichols, 58, from Albuquerque, New Mexico, gives him the advantage of doubt.
Nichols, who voted for Trump in 2024, likes what he sees as a whole of the president, although he has both his concerns about style and substance, especially Trump’s social media presence and his on-and-and-off tariffs. Nichols also does not like to eliminate federal authorities such as the educational department.
Despite his occasional disagreements with Trump, Nichols said he wanted to give the president space to do his work, and he trusts the house and the Senate, which is now led by Republicans to act as protective measures.
“We brought him into office for a certain reason and we should trust that he would do the job for the best America,” said Nichols.
Trump’s total views have been quite steady since 2019
Trump has spent far -reaching and often unpopular policies in the past six months. At the beginning of this year, the Americans prepared themselves for higher prices due to their approach. The survey in July showed that most people believe that Trump’s tax and expenditure law benefits the affluent, while only a few believe that they will pay dividends for the middle class or humans.
The discomfort with individual guidelines, however, may lead to comprehensive changes in Trump’s perspective. Most of these were constant in years of turbulence, with its equity assessment within a range of 10 percentage points by the Covid 19 pandemic, a conviction of the crime and the authorized assassination.
For some of his followers, the advantages of his presidency outweigh the costs.
Kim Schultz, 62, from Springhill, Florida, said she was thrilled with almost everything Trump does as President, especially his aggressive steps to deport everyone who lives illegally in the country.
Even if Trump’s tariffs become effective at some point and augment prices, she said she would not be alerted.
“I always had the opinion that I have no problem here and there if the tariffs cost me a little more,” she said.
All over the country, Hildenbrand is not like Hildenbrand’s personality and his preference for insults, including those directed against foreign leaders. But he believes that Trump makes things happen.
“For me, he shows more or less that he is on the right track,” he said. “I’m not for Trump’s personality, but I’m in favor of what he is done.”
