The presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris on Tuesday night is likely to be the defining political event of the year, if not the decade. At stake in November is nothing less than the direction in which America is heading.
The candidates couldn’t be more different. Harris is a radical leftist from San Francisco who wants nothing less than a redistributive nanny state, open borders, strict gun control and lax law enforcement.
Trump’s slogans “America First” and “Make America Great Again” resonate with tens of millions of hard-working middle-class citizens who see the values and morals of the country they loved so much as a child being undermined by radical left-wing politicians who are also hell-bent on bringing in as many illegal immigrants as possible.
Yes, everything is at stake.
In the case of Trump, what he says – and perhaps more importantly, as he says – will be of paramount importance throughout the debate. He must stay on topic. He must not Ridiculing Harris personally, calling her immature names, and pretending to bully her. (This “man bullying a woman” thing doesn’t go over well with female voters.)
First and foremost, Harris must avoid her infamous word salads, avoid repeating verifiable lies and explain in plain language, her numerous changes of opinion and her nonsense that says, “I have changed some views, but not my values.”

Kamala Harris’ debate strategy revealed and why she’s trying to change it
And once again, the only person in US history who has ever lost to Donald Trump gives us advice on how to defeat him
Republican strategist Karl Rove believes Trump has the more hard task because he’s the one dealing with substantive issues – unlike Harris’ empty “joy” campaign. And that’s why the former president has to stay on topic. Can he? We’ll soon find out.
As I wrote on Monday, Trump campaign senior adviser Tim Murtaugh said on Monday that the former president wants to hold Harris accountable for her conduct in public service, beginning with her tenure as San Francisco district attorney and continuing through her rise to vice president.
Kamala Harris will be forced to defend her crazy liberal record. She will not be able to escape it. At the end of this debate, everyone will know her record. That means everything she has done in her career up to this point will be carried forward into the present. That means she is the liberal from San Francisco that she has always been. She is just pretending not to be.
Murtaugh was absolutely right. Trump’s job will be to act presidential and stay true to his plan.

Fireworks? Senior campaign adviser reveals Trump’s attack plan against Harris in Tuesday’s debate
As is usual in presidential debates, the candidates’ two-minute closing arguments will be crucial. Trump’s closing argument follows Harris’s and will be, journalist Isaac Schorr believes, the most vital part of the debate. In fact, Schorr said: wrote“Trump can win the debate – and the election – in two minutes.”
Schorr gave an idea of what Trump’s closing argument “might look like.”
Do you remember the times when you weren’t afraid to go to the grocery store or stop at the gas station?
Do you remember when the news from the Middle East talked about our enemies being brought to their knees and peace agreements being reached?
Remember when our southern border was not an international embarrassment?
It is no coincidence that the last time you remember all this, I was your president.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have spent trillions of hard-earned taxpayer dollars driving up the prices of the things you and your families need to survive.
To make matters worse, they called their expensive mini-Green New Deal—for which my opponent cast the deciding vote—the “Inflation Reduction Act.”
Did they mock you or lie to you?
The Biden-Harris administration exudes weakness and incompetence – and our enemies smell blood in the water.
The reckless withdrawal from Afghanistan cost the lives of 13 US soldiers and brought Russia a war against Ukraine and Hamas a barbaric attack on Israel.
She intentionally opened our southern border after my administration spent years securing it, putting American citizens in danger in the process.
Arizona, Harris cares more about what her friends in San Francisco think about her stance on immigration than the harm it does to them.
The government continues to squeeze our energy producers and force them to pay for policies that empower our enemies abroad. And Pennsylvania, you will lose the jobs and wealth the fracking industry has created.
Enough is enough.
Four years ago, Kamala Harris ran for president with the most radical program this country has ever seen.
Green New Deal? Of course. Abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement and defund the police? Done. Fracking? Ban. Her health insurance? She said it’s as good as gone. 80 percent tax rate? A “fantastic” idea.
Now she is trying to backtrack, insisting that she does not believe a word she said four years ago.
And all of this is coming from the person who lied to your face about Joe Biden’s condition. She still insists he’s fit to be your commander in chief, even though every single one of you knows he’s not.
Kamala Harris cannot serve you because she has no respect for you.
She doesn’t believe she owes you the truth – or anything else.
I’m not known for my modesty, but I realize that I’m not perfect and that some of you may never like me for who I am.
However, in November you should judge both of us for what we have done.
I have given you more prosperity, more security, and more pride as Americans.
Biden and Harris have made you poorer, less unthreatening and less proud.
While Schorr had the advantage of being able to think through and write everything down on the computer, Trump (and Harris) will be on stage without notes – a clear advantage for the former president, who is also a far better impromptu speaker than Harris.
However, Trump has experience in high-stakes debates, and Harris offers many targets.
Yep, I’m betting on The Donald.
