Tomorrow, January 6, 2025, Vice President Kamala Harris will have the humiliating task of certifying Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election. This is the same man she called a fascist and demonized as an existential threat to our nation — and even the entire world.
Talk about embarrassing.
Adding to the moment is the fact that it will be January 6th, a date that haunts people like former Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Liz Cheney (R-WY) because it is the worst for them and Most Heinous, represents the worst attack on the United States in our history.
She will join a diminutive club of former vice presidents who have had to do so publicly confirm their failure:
According to the constitution, the vice president is the head of the senateentrusted with the process of announcing the result of a White House Choice…
And it means Harris, who lost all seven keys Battleground states to a candidate she called a fascist, must face the final humiliation of explaining himself Donald Trump the winner.
She will follow in the footsteps of Al Gore, the vice president of Bill Clintonwho had to certify the Republican George W. Bush’s defeat in 2001 after weeks of legal battles over the hanging of children and diminutive margins Florida.
Before him, Richard Nixon (then Dwight D. Eisenhower’s vice president) had to approve the results of his defeat by John F. Kennedy after the 1960 election.
Ah, remember, Al Boring Gore, the original election denier:
(2/2)
But Gore not only had to certify the election, he also had to repel objections from Democratic election deniers who claimed he had actually won. pic.twitter.com/uXz1khNhMq

Here is Nixon in 1961:
But wait – things could get even more engaging. Kamala just could don’t show up. It’s happened before:
In 1969, Democratic Vice President Hubert Humphrey withdrew and skipped certification. Instead, it fell to the president pro tempore of the Senate (usually the ranking member of the majority party) to announce that Humphrey had lost to Nixon in the second campaign.
On Friday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said was asked if Harris showed up and said, “I think this is her plan. I would have to refer you to the vice president’s office according to your schedule.” Now there is a statement that leaves a lot of wiggle room. KJP is known for consistently misleading the public, so it is difficult to give much credence to their words.
Pinocchio: WH spokesman KJP praises the “best team in the industry” and immediately receives brutal fact checks
Of course, Trump fans are having fun with it on social media.
Kamala must confirm the results of the election on Monday…
It will be must-see television.

Normally I’m against schadenfreude – I think it’s in bad shape. Accept your victories with class and show your opponent grace.
In this case, however, I’m having a challenging time finding grace toward Biden, Harris, Schumer, Pelosi, and others. They have waged such a vicious, mendacious campaign and done so much to harm America that it will be challenging not to enjoy it Schadenfreude Watching Kamala declare Trump – the fascist Nazi whose followers are “trash” – President of the United States.
That is, when she shows up.
