Former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger attempted to make a false claim of election denial, but it was immediately refuted with just four words.
Kinzinger went on a whirlwind media tour yesterday, including an appearance on “Late Night with Stephen Colbert” where he discussed the anniversary of the largely peaceful Jan. 6, 2021, protests at the Capitol.
It is a day that he eventually celebrates as a national day of mourning.
However, Kinzinger also appeared on the only network that will employ him – CNN. He was included on a panel that included commentator Scott Jennings.
The battle of wits had begun. And Kinzinger apparently got into a shootout with a spork.
“Just a quick note: Both parties have always accepted presidential elections until a year or four ago,” Kinzinger falsely claimed.
Jennings replied simply: “That’s wrong, they didn’t.”
PANTS ON FIRE: Adam Kinzinger falsely claims Scott Jennings lied when he said this was the first time in our lives that both parties had no objection to the outcome of a presidential election.

The former lawmaker who sold his soul to make common cause with the extremist Democratic Party only to have it banish him from his job in Illinois tried to quantify his comments. Scott wasn’t having it.
“But as far as party goes, I have never seen the speaker or the House Democratic leader object to a presidential election. There is a huge difference and don’t try to make them the same thing,” Kinzinger said. “I agree they should have done it, but to say it’s the same thing.”
“You did it, and you admit you objected,” Jennings replied.
There’s something special about watching Adam fire off his entire diatribe, only to end it with a total of 12 words.
Merrick Garland takes gaslighting to an obscene level in his J6 anniversary statement
Kinzinger is not only unbearable, but also factually incorrect. Democrats have objected to the election results in every election won by Republicans this century.
In 2000 15 Democratsincluding 12 members of the Congressional Black Caucus at the time, would object to the counting of Florida’s electoral votes.
This came after then-Vice President Al Gore refused to accept the free and fair election results and George W. Bush refused to concede defeat. Instead, he blocked the electoral process through months of litigation.
Gore repeatedly failed in his attempts to overturn the election results in the lower courts and continued to fight in the Florida Supreme Court. He didn’t concede until mid-December of that year, a month and a half after Election Day.
In 2004 31 Democrats voted to reject Ohio’s electoral votes, once again attempting to delegitimize President Bush, even though he had won by a larger margin in the election and in the popular vote count over John Kerry.
Kinzinger says J6 was a “dark” day and thought he had to “shoot as many Americans” as possible
In 2016, there were seven different Democrats Objected 11 times to certify the results of the 2016 presidential election victory for Donald Trump. An additional 67 Democrats boycotted Trump’s inaugurationMany claimed that “his election was illegitimate.”
There was violence in the streets, and so were Democratic lawmakers I’m definitely trying “to obstruct, influence, complicate or delay” the certification of the presidential election, as the Republicans were accused of doing on January 6th.
Never forget it.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and ten other senators objected to the certification of the 2020 election. It was by no means a unique tactic. If anything, Democrats have written the script for election denial.
Kinzinger lost his fight with Jennings. But he’s probably used to being a loser by now.
