Charleston, WV (Wowk) – Lance Wheeler has been a commissioner at Kanawha County Commission for over four years. Now he has the feeling that he is ready to play a larger role.

“I think it is time that I want to raise my experience to the state’s Senate and bring this experience to find ways of how we can improve the state of West Virginia, not only here in Kanawha County, but throughout the state,” said Wheeler.

Wheeler said he would run for the 8th district seat of the Senate and is looking for the nomination of the Republican Party. He said that he believed that his role in the Kanawha County Commission prepared him for a seat in the Senate.

“You look at all the great things that we have done here in Kanawha County to bring prosperity and improve the lifestyle for every Kanawha -Countian. I want to bring the same work ethic, and I would like to bring the same attitude to the state’s Senate and work with our local cities, our district commissions at the same time,” said Wheeler.

The seat of the 8th district is currently held by Senator Kevin Bartlett (R-Kanawha), which was selected for the position after the former Senator Mark Hunt was elected to the Auditor of West Virginia.

Wheeler said when he was chosen, be it one of his top priorities to push himself to eliminate the state income tax.

“You know that we have recently deserved state income tax here in the state of West Virginia, but the ultimate goal is that we have to bring it to zero. Not only that more money is withdrawn into your pockets, but it is tempting to do business, jobs, to come into the state of West Virginia, to build your manufacturing in West -Virginia,” said Wheeler.

He also said that he was planning to concentrate on the elimination of wasteful expenses in the West Virginia State Budget.

“As a district commissioner, I made our government much more competent. Saving the taxpayer with KRT, our ambulance authority, millions of dollars, but only more competent, without fulfilling necessary needs. This will be my priority, finds this waste, abuse in the states of West Virginia, the budget that is in the pockets in the pockets, in the pockets Pockets in the pockets, in the pockets, in the pockets, in which the pockets in the pockets deal with the pockets in the areas.

The 8th district of the Senate includes Charleston, Dunbar, Institute, Sissonville, Cross Lanes and Nitro. It also includes parts of Putnam, Jackson, Roane and Clay Counties. Wheeler said he planned to follow a boot on the floor to his campaign and meet with residents of all cities who make up the 8th district.

“I look forward to going throughout the entire district, whether this is Putnam County, Jackson County, Roane County, Clay County and personally imagined with these voters and can explain why I can help you serve you in the state Senate, and that I can be a voice that you can hear, and I will always support you in every topic in which it comes,” said Wheeler.
