Are you ready to see the best you will see today? Donald Trump’s stunning victory was followed by an avalanche of reactions from leftists ranging from the hilarious to the deranged. If you’ve watched MSNBC, you’ve seen the speakers who continue to insist that Kamala Harris ran a “flawless” campaign and that “racism and sexism” ruined her.
SEE: MSNBC reacts to Trump’s win and no lessons were learned
Then there’s overdue night television. Never before have there been so many pompous, unworldly idiots gathered in one section of the press. They went on air Wednesday night when the race was called and complete emotional breakdowns ensued. A typical example? Jimmy Kimmel Strictly speaking started crying. Remember, this is supposed to be a comedy show.
Former comedian Jimmy Kimmel gives a tearful talk after Trump’s substantial win. There is a clatter.

KIMMEL: Let’s be forthright, it was a terrible night last night. It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants who make this country run.
(starts crying)
For healthcare, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free expression. It was a terrible night for indigent people, for the middle class, for seniors relying on social security, for our allies in Ukraine.
(starts crying again)
For NATO (necessary) and democracy and decency, and it was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him, and let’s face it, it was also a terrible night for those who voted for him, it just shows not yet .
I could go through this point by point and notice how absurd almost everything he says is. These are people who live in an impenetrable bubble, to the point where they believe they have the inherent right to dictate who people vote for in order to “save democracy.” He basically calls all the Hispanics and black men who voted for Trump in record numbers idiots because he doesn’t respect them. They’re pawns for someone like Kimmel.
However, I want to focus on something else. Notice how he actually starts crying in this clip. It’s not like that when he talks about democracy, women or decency. It’s when he mentions illegal immigration and Ukraine. What does this say about how out of touch these people are? While Kimmel cried, he managed to make it clear to everyone exactly why the working class and minorities were switching to Republicans in 2024. He just doesn’t notice because he’s too addicted to his own farts.
Then there was Stephen Colbert.
Colbert, also desperate:
“The majority spoke and said that democracy is not that important to them. And I want to take a moment to congratulate Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on their amazing 107-day campaign.” pic.twitter.com/cIksZv1jUm

COLBERT: Well, ****. It happened again. After a bizarre and vicious campaign driven by the desperate need to stay out of prison, Donald Trump has won the 2024 election.
Almost like you rehearsed it.
The profound shock and sense of loss is enormous… Yesterday I walked around all day proudly wearing my “I Voted” sticker. Today I voted for my “I question my fundamental belief in the goodness of humanity” sticker. They hand them out right outside the door when they sell back.
Now, as a late-night host, people often say to me, “Come on, part of me must want Trump to win because he gives you so much to work with.” No, no one says to the man playing on the toilet, “Wow, you must love it when someone has explosive diarrhea.” There is so much material to work with.” Do you understand that? That good?
I wish you wished, so many of us wished this hadn’t happened, but that’s not our choice. This is a democracy. This is democracy with a substantial “duh,” and in this democracy the majority has spoken and said that democracy isn’t that essential to them. And I want to take a moment to congratulate Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on their amazing 107 day campaign. I mean, come on, this was a brief cut from the start. They had it right after the game. I hope they stay in touch, I know they’re really good at texting.
Colbert’s message is basic: Americans are idiotic, uneducated idiots. That has been the main message of the Democratic Party since the Barack Obama years. This penchant for tearing people down rather than understanding why they vote while they vote is why Kamala Harris lost. Someone with a liberal arts degree is not morally or intellectually superior to an HVAC technician. Until the Democrats realize this, they will continue to lose.
