We reported on the left’s ongoing attempts to sell Kamala Harris to the American people after Joe Biden made the not-so-secret announcement that he would end his campaign for re-election in 2024.
A key for progressives in achieving that goal is convincing everyone that Harris is more popular with minority voters than former President Donald Trump. Earlier on Friday, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama gave their blessing in an awkward phone call with Harris, the vice president and likely Democratic nominee:

We also saw the lovable rascal, Ragin’ Cajun James Carville, embodying an unwelcome downpour on the left’s celebration parade over Harris’ (likely) victory at the top of the ticket, as my colleague Mike Miller wrote:

On Tuesday, we reported on the poll results following Harris’s pre-convention delegate pledge call; already, the numbers are not looking good for her compared to Trump.
One of the Democratic polls Bonchie included in his article was for Michigan, where Trump is 5 points ahead of Harris:

Now we see them starting to speculate about poll numbers. The established media is reporting on a new poll in the swing state of Michigan that actually shows Trump and Harris “necked.” (That’s what the introduction to the Newsweek story says.)
That’s not how Bakari Sellers, a radical left-wing CNN commentator/writer, is trying to sell the results, however. He urges in an X-post that it’s bad for Trump because, as the story’s pre-written headline goes, reads: “Donald Trump receives no black votes compared to Kamala Harris in new Michigan poll”
Donald Trump fails to win black votes compared to Kamala Harris in new Michigan poll – Newsweek
ZERO. https://t.co/zTqlNdl34o

However, the headline is followed by the following:
The WDIV/Detroit News poll found that the presidential race a dead heat between Trumpthe Republican candidate and Vice President Kamala Harristhe likely candidate of the Democrats – with 41 percent of the support each.
Of the black voters surveyed, 82.1 percent supported Harris, 11.5 percent supported independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and no one supported Trump.
The survey found 600 likely voters from Michigan between 22 and 24 July and has a Error rate of 4 percentage points. It is unclear how many blacks were included in the samplebut it is likely less than 100 people Considering that blacks make up 14 percent of Michigan’s population. [emphasis added]
Let’s break this down, something almost anyone with common sense can do for themselves. First, no one votes in Michigan; this is a poll.
By trying to sell this without context or commentary on the post, Sellers shows that he is not a stern commentator; he is a clown. And we should laugh at him:
Right in the analysis they admit: “It is unclear how many black people were included in the sample.” 🤡👇 https://t.co/gLV1PaQXHv

Second, it is clearly a ruse. It is immediately exposed in the poll analysis—in at least two ways. Not only does Newsweek admit that it is impossible to know how many black people participated in the poll, but even if they did know, as the Newsweek writer admitted, it was probably fewer than 100 people. And look at that thin sample size. We are supposed to take a poll of 600 likely voters seriously. And finally, the margin of error is 4. You really can’t say for sure how many black people said they would support Donald Trump. That’s how dishonest the left and its media are.
You may be wondering, if it’s so basic to unravel these misleading tactics, why do the influencer types on the left keep going? These are people who believe that social media, in this case Platform X, is reality — and they’re counting on Democrats, undecided Trump haters, or independents not clicking or reading past the noisy propaganda in the headline. Why are they so desperate to risk that even a small percentage of people will actually recognize the facts in the article? They’re bad at that. The attempts so far to make the picture look rosy for Harris among minority voters have not worked well. But we need to be vigilant and continue to call them out.
