It’s Tuesday and time for another round of state and congressional primaries: This week it’s Connecticut, Minnesota, Vermont and Wisconsin’s turn.
Races to keep an eye on tonight:
- Gerry Smith will face Matt Corey in the Republican Senate primary in Connecticut
- In the Connecticut House of Representatives Republican primary for the 4th congressional district, Bob MacGuffie is running against Michael Goldstein (in a D+13 district currently represented by Democrat Jim Himes).
- In the Republican Senate primary in Minnesota, Royce White is running against Joe Fraser (while Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar is expected to win her primary by a wide margin).
- In the Minnesota Dem primary for the 5th District, Rep. Ilhan Omar is again being challenged by Don Samuels, who lost to her by just two points in 2022. However, current polls show the incumbent well ahead of her challenger.
- In the Republican Senate primary in Wisconsin, Eric Hovde has a good chance of defeating Charles Barman and Rejani Raveendren.
- In addition to the regular primary election for the House of Representatives, Wisconsin is also holding a special election to fill the seat vacated by Mike Gallagher (R). Democrat Kristin Lyerly is running unopposed. On the Republican side, Roger Roth, Tony Wied and Andre Jaque are competing against each other.
Polls close at 7 p.m. Eastern Time in Vermont, 8 p.m. Eastern Time in Connecticut, and 9 p.m. Eastern Time in Minnesota and Wisconsin. RedState will be bringing you the results live here, so be sure to check back — and join in in the comments below.
