WASHINGTON – Republican Ohio Senator JD Vance on Thursday agreed to an Oct. 1 vice presidential debate against Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on CBS News.
Walz agreed to the October Debate invitation from CBS on Wednesday. It will take place in New York City.
Vance also called for further debates against Walz, including one on CNN on September 18.
“I accept not only the CBS debate on October 1, but also the CNN debate on September 18,” he said. wrote on X“I look forward to seeing you both.”
The Harris-Walz campaign team did not immediately respond to States Newsroom’s request for comment.
September 18 is also the day on which Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is to be sentenced in his hush money trial, in which he (*1*)was found guilty on all 34 counts falsifying business records to conceal payments to porn star Stormy Daniels and thus influence the 2016 presidential election.
In a letter dated Wednesday but released Thursday, Trump’s lawyers asked the judge overseeing his sentencing to delay it until after the presidential election. according to CNN.
Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris are scheduled for a presidential debate September 10, hosted by ABC News.
