Over a year ago, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was not yet a Democratic presidential candidate. He had not yet decided to leave the party he grew up in and run as an independent after that party’s rulers sought to keep him off the ballot nationwide and relied on their lackeys in the media to smear his reputation. And no one could have imagined that he would suspend his campaign and endorse a Republican, former President Donald Trump, for president, as he did just Friday.

No, in the summer of 2023, he was the founder of a nonprofit focused on children’s health, Children’s Health Defense (CHD). Kennedy was invited to speak before the House Weaponization Committee as part of the hearings on the collusion between the Biden administration and Big Tech to censor opinions they did not want to spread. But before Kennedy could speak, the ranking Democratic member and other Democrats on the committee tried to destroy his reputation with wild accusations against him.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) just reshared a clip from the July 20, 2023 hearing in which Massie gave up some of his own speaking time so that RFK Jr. could explain a term he used: “misinformation.”
But Kennedy began to respond to the flood of “slanders” against him by the Democrats, alleging that he had advised blacks not to get vaccinated, that he was a supporter of the substitution theory, etc.

Kennedy turned to the ranking member and said:
If the views that you and others have attributed to me were actually true, then I would understand why I should not be allowed to testify here today. But that is not true. These are smears and vitriol designed to censor me and prevent people from listening to what I am actually saying. And I think, ranking member, that we should be having a real conversation rather than personal attacks.
He then explained the term “misinformation”:
The term “disinformation” was coined to describe information that Facebook, Twitter and other social networks believed to be true, but that the White House and other federal agencies wanted to censor for political reasons because it contradicted official teachings.
He then gave an example of this by telling the congressmen about a group he was in on several social media platforms that the government had asked the companies to censor. They did. RFK Jr. also said that his Instagram account was “taken down”; it had 900,000 followers.
Here he is masterfully behaving. And the members who keep interrupting him only prove the reason for the hearings. They want/didn’t want him to speak. What, if anything, did this tactic accomplish? As you can see, RFK Jr. was forced to spend over four minutes correcting the record – four minutes he could have used to share valuable information that would support the American people understand what their administration is doing.
But that’s not what matters to the other side of the aisle. They work to tarnish a person’s reputation in the public eye and burden them with time-consuming inconveniences so that their message never reaches its intended audience.
Some polls conducted during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) have already started to decline. Democrats may find in November that they made a massive mistake by poking this hornet’s nest.
