As you can probably imagine, the left-wing media is none too pleased that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is endorsing former President Donald Trump after dropping out of the race.
It seems as if only a few minutes had passed after Kennedy appeared on stage with the former President to express his support when various media outlets published reports and opinion pieces vilifying him for his support of the “Orange Man What Is Bad™.”
Columnist Karen Tumulty wrote in an editorial for the Washington Post on Friday: slammed Kennedy claimed he had betrayed the Kennedy family legacy by aligning himself with Trump, arguing that the former candidate’s actions somehow clashed with the principles that previous generations had upheld, including a commitment to civil rights and immigration reform.
“But his announcement on Friday that he would ‘pledge my support’ to Donald Trump in the swing states represents a betrayal of a higher order,” Tumulty wrote.
The author said he “threw overboard the principles that generations of Kennedys stood for by choosing a former president who preached intolerance and division.”
MSNBC columnist Zeeshan Aleem explored how Kennedy’s candidacy and his decision to support Trump reflect a broader political realignment brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. He examines how RFK’s anti-vaccine stance helped him gain significant support among conservatives.
“He became a superspreader of Covid-related misinformation online and his following grew specifically around this issue,” Aleem wrote, also claiming he was using anti-vaccine sentiment “to push people to the right.”
In another commentary for the Washington Post, columnist Alexandra Petri bizarre attempt Kennedy with satire. She wrote as the worm that supposedly inhabited Kennedy’s brain and criticized the candidate’s decision to endorse Trump.
“I am a parasite and I have no interest in the well-being of the country. That is why I now realize that I have no choice but to drop out of the race and support Donald Trump,” she wrote as a Kennedy worm.
She continued: “As someone who seeks to gorge himself on whatever life has to offer without caring about the devastation he leaves behind, I have long admired Donald Trump’s way of doing things.”
The author mocked Kennedy’s anti-vaccination stance and urged readers to “look forward to preventable childhood diseases returning on an even larger scale, but that the sick children will have glowing skin!”
Finally, Politico published a list one of the seven “weirdest” moments from Kennedy’s campaign, which appears to be part of a broader effort by Democrats to brand their opponents as “weird.”
The authors noted that RFK “ran a conspiracy-ridden and futile campaign, but still managed to make frequent headlines.”
The report rehashed the brainworm commentary, highlighting that Kennedy “admitted to dumping a dead bear in Central Park… and staging it to look like a bicycle accident.”
I get it. Kennedy chose to endorse Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris, and Democrats are upset about that. While it’s unclear how much RFK’s endorsement will actually facilitate the former president, it certainly won’t facilitate Harris.
Kennedy, like the rest of his family, has been a Democrat for decades. Now he rejects the party – and for good reason. His policy He’s still largely on the left, as you can see from his platform. He hasn’t exactly become a conservative Republican, has he?
Perhaps the left-wing scribes in the press should be angrier at the Democrats for driving out Kennedy and a enormous portion of his supporters, many of whom are likely to support Trump. The left has shown how out of touch it is with the common people, which has led to many becoming disillusioned with the party.
