BEST MORNING

WATCH: CNN’s Scott Jennings blows up former Harris spokeswoman’s narrative in seconds

As I noted before, if Donald Trump and the Republican Party do what Scott Jennings did with Jamal Simmons and keep Harris in check, November 5 could be, as Trump likes to say, “a wonderful thing.”

Cameramen at the Paris Olympics must not “frame” women in a “sexist” way

I was fed up with the Olympics after they opened with a denigration of Christianity, but the IOC gave me another reason to avoid the Games with its silly, accounting-based equality offensive.

DeSantis gives the media a reality check with Kamala Lovefest: She is “mindless” and “responsible” for all of Biden’s actions

Although DeSantis did not win the Republican nomination this time, he remains a mighty voice for conservative values and his future looks very brilliant indeed.

WHAT IS ON OFFER?

Today on Capitol Hill…

We have entered the tardy summer lull on Capitol Hill. The House of Representatives is on “summer recess” until September 9. The Senate has a few hearings/sessions scheduled this week, but none on Monday, and then it too is closed for the rest of August.

White House, what’s going on

After a serene weekend at Camp David, President-In name only Joe Biden will depart for Austin, Texas, at noon to mark the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act with a visit to the LBJ Presidential Library. He will then travel to Houston to pay his respects to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D) before returning to Washington, DC, tardy in the evening.

Full speed ahead…

On Monday, Biden will unveil his Supreme Court reform proposals. With Congress essentially in session until September and elections looming, one naturally wonders how much of the soon-to-be-departed president’s stated agenda will be taken up by the House upon his return.

MORNING THOUGHTS

The last few days have been a little less invigorating news-wise – at least domestically. Are we simply experiencing a brief placid before the storm 99 days before Election Day? Probably. I’ve really enjoyed being able to enjoy an afternoon by the pool without having to interrupt it to read a breaking news story for a change. As they say, it’s the little things…

LIGHTER FOOD

This is just silly. We could all apply some silliness.
