It may seem trite, but it proves to be true time and time again – people don’t hate aged media enough. The latest example came Saturday after President-elect Donald Trump shockingly announced that Kash Patel was his nominee for FBI director.
The whining and gnashing of teeth from people like former Trump security adviser John Bolton and Biden security adviser Jake Sullivan, as well as a self-righteous and meaningless statement from the FBI, were, as we pointed out, as good as confirmation out there Sunday. My colleague Bonchie wrote that a compiled quote from former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr’s book calling Patel unqualified is much the same.

Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee appeared on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” this week, immediately following Sullivan’s conversation with host Kristen Welker and his comments about Trump’s “hand-picked FBI director” Christopher Wray.
It’s worth reading how the survey was structured – and Hagerty’s well-planned answer:
KRISTEN WELKER:
….I want to know your reaction. This move by President-elect Trump would essentially result in the firing of his hand-picked FBI director, whose term doesn’t end until 2027, and replacing him with Kash Patel, who of course served in several different roles in the first year of the Trump administration. How will you vote on his nomination and do you think he has enough votes to pass?
IT IS. BILL HAGERTY:
This is exactly why I encouraged Trump to bring Kash Patel to the table. Unlike Jake, I understand his reluctance to talk about Kash, but I’m more than content to talk about him. He represents the kind of change we need to see at the FBI. When you think about the background check failures that have taken place. How can we have someone like Colin Kahl tweeting classified information? I went to the FBI myself. You ignored me. Essentially, he was confirmed on a party-line vote in the US Senate when Kamala Harris broke the tie and gave this person who wasn’t even supposed to have a security clearance the third most powerful position at the Department of Defense. You have Rob Malley. I don’t know how he cashed an FBI check. He is currently under investigation. His connections to the Iranian regime of influence, which worked with him and for him. Ariane Tabatabai, still with the Department of Defense, should never have passed an FBI background check. This entire agency needs to be cleaned up. It doesn’t do its job. And if you look at what happened, the politicization that took place in 2016 when senior FBI leaders worked together and conspired to try to keep President Trump out of office, and then when he took office, they set this up phony Russia-Gate investigation that obstructed the Trump administration for several years. Look at 2020. Look at what happened there with the Hunter Biden phony story that the FBI leadership colluded with Big Tech to censor Hunter Biden’s laptop, which allowed President Biden to basically shut down the American public deceive and get into office. There are stern problems at the FBI. The American public knows it. They expect far-reaching changes, and Kash Patel is just the guy to do it.
Along with Biden saves like Sullivan, it appears that Barr’s book excerpt was chosen by Democrats and their media ambassadors to act as a cudgel against any Republican who dares to support Trump’s Cabinet endorsements. At least that’s what Welker tried to do here, pressing the senator on whether he disagreed with Barr on Patel.
Hagerty stated flatly that he would “support this appointment,” pointed out that Kash Patel is highly qualified, and mentioned that he has already shown through “revelation” that he is the right choice[ing] for the American public what happened with Russia-gate.”
Sen. @BillHagertyTN: “I will support this appointment. Kash has worked in national security. He worked in the Justice Department and he is someone who was willing to expose the injustices of the FBI.” pic.twitter.com/uTE7JWis8y

But he wasn’t done denouncing the string of rogues during the Biden administration, be it at the FBI or the federal government, who managed to obtain/maintain security clearances despite their nefarious activities:
Listen, I think you should make the Biden administration take a look at itself. What qualifications does Tony Blinken have for Secretary of State? Well, he organized 51 so-called intelligence experts to write a phony letter saying that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation. That must have qualified him to be foreign minister. President Trump has the right to name his candidates. That is exactly what he is doing and I will support this appointment. Kash worked for national security. He worked in the Justice Department and was someone who was willing to expose the mistakes in the FBI. He is the one who revealed to the American public what happened with Russia-Gate. He is the one who can see through the solution here.
This is exactly what our site needs to do in the unfriendly territory of aged media. Don’t give an inch.
