Jim Acosta will soon be banished to CNN’s afternoon block, but in the meantime, he’s making sure everyone knows why he was banished.
Acosta was infamous for accosting a female staffer while fighting for a microphone during the first Trump administration (a microcosm of his career if there ever was one). During the Biden years, Acosta was moved away from the White House circle to host a daytime television show. It went as expected, and the “Journalist” regularly took third place in the ratings battle between the three major broadcasters. However, that didn’t stop him from being as insufferable as possible, even though he was always the soldier.
On Wednesday, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) campaigned against Acosta, rhetorically slandering him in the process. That being said, I still don’t understand why any The Republican goes on CNN even though his whole job is to make money for the left-wing network, but that’s a discussion for another day.
There were several conversations in which Burchett left Acosta furious, and of course the topic of the day was January 6th because CNN intends to go down with that ship.
Republican Congressman @TimBurchett absolutely denounced CNN’s Jim Acosta for making a second wish on January 6th and that those released by President Trump would commit violence:
“This is a political world, Jim. And I don’t remember all of you on CNN condemning Joe Biden because… pic.twitter.com/aMC4gMid8p

CNN’s Jim Acosta: “I just want to ask you, should Donald Trump take personal responsibility if any of these people released from prison commit crimes in the future?”@TimBurchett: “No more than Joe Biden should take personal responsibility…” pic.twitter.com/AniHmDbim4

ACOSTA: And I just want to ask you: If any of these people who got out of prison commit crimes in the future, should Donald Trump take personal responsibility for that?
BURCHETT: Nor should Joe Biden take personal responsibility for the 14 million people who lost their lives because he didn’t have enough courage to enforce the law and support Americans.
ACOSTA: I’m not talking about Joe Biden.
BURCHETT: Well, you should.
Can we stop and talk about what a stupid straw man this is? None of the people convicted of January 6-related crimes served life sentences. All of them were either about to be released or had already been released, and only a few had to spend over a decade in prison. By Acosta’s logic, every aspect of the justice system would be “responsible” for every future crime anyone would ever commit because they were not locked in solitary confinement until their last breath.
By this logic, every judge, parole board, etc. should be held personally responsible for giving a convicted criminal less than the maximum sentence if he goes out and commits further crimes (which happens often).

Burchett is also right about the hypocrisy. Not once did Acosta criticize the pardons that Joe Biden granted to murderers and rapists in the final days of his administration. It’s only when Trump is involved that the CNN anchor suddenly becomes morally repulsed and acts as if the average January 6 attendee is a bloodthirsty criminal hellbent on offending again.
Acosta further attempted to target Fox News, suggesting that CNN was above the fray as a reliable source of information. Burchett was ready with the perfect answer.
OUCH. @TimBurchett CNN’s Jim Acosta is absolutely thrilled as the network loses to Spongebob again…
Acosta: “That’s not Fox, Congressman. You can’t just make up a story and fool people. This is CNN. That’s the news. We ask you to come by and…” pic.twitter.com/AUfWPwPH49

ACOSTA: That’s not Fox, Congressman. You can’t just make up a story and fool people. This is CNN. That’s the news. We ask you to tell the truth.
BURCHETT: And that’s why more and more people are now watching reruns of “Spongebob” on Cartoon Network. Jim, look, I left the White House during a riot. My life was threatened. There have been threats to my life in the last few weeks, but there is no coverage of it. And you all continue this narrative of attacking Trump. You just can’t stand that he won and that America spoke and that your opinion has been greatly weakened by it.ACOSTA: That’s not the case at all!
BURCHETT: And your vision is very constrained!
I love Acosta’s imitation journalist gig where he claims, “This is CNN,” as if that wasn’t a negative indictment. What Burchett says is exactly right. The hackers of this left-wing network are furious that Donald Trump won a second term after carrying water for Joe Biden for four years. All this constant whining about January 6th is tantamount to a child’s seizure. Nobody cares anymore. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t bad and that some people didn’t do bad things, but now it’s over. It’s been four years and the American people have turned their attention to the issues that actually matter to them.
The pardons and commutations were necessary to provide clarity given how corrupt the Justice Department was in its dealings with the people who were there that day, many of whom had no intention of doing anything and were simply walking around taking photos made. I know Acosta doesn’t want to accept this, but it doesn’t matter what he wants. Every second that he continues to rant and rave is another second that shows how insanely irrelevant CNN is, and I would once again recommend that Republicans stop appearing on the network. There is no reason to give them the food at all. Leave hackers like Acosta to languish alone with their dozens of viewers.
