It’s taken a week, but Joe Biden has finally given a definitive answer about the future of his campaign. As I suspected all along, he’s not going anywhere. During a phone call on Wednesday, the president announced that “nobody is pushing me out” and that he’s in the race until the bitter end.
The Democrats will need a strong drink after this announcement.
President Biden at a just-concluded campaign meeting, per participant:
“I want to say this as clearly and unambiguously as possible: I’m running… nobody is pushing me out. I’m not leaving. I’m in this race to the end and we’re going to win.”

It doesn’t get much clearer than that. Biden isn’t going to drop out, and Kamala Harris isn’t going to dance through the door to save the day. The Democrats have to make do with what they have.

The possibility of unseating Biden was never really a solemn one. He won enough delegates to be nominated as the nominee, and with the nominating convention just around the corner, the timing just doesn’t work. More importantly, however, the only The alternative was Harris, who regularly worse than the president. I don’t think many Democrats would have wanted to turn to them no matter how challenging things get. Biden is senile, but he is the one they have because they chose to lie about his condition for so long and did nothing when it was unlikely to force him to resign.
As I wrote recently, we can expect the ranks to tighten in the future. The press didn’t suddenly become truthful when it briefly began telling the truth about Biden’s decline after the debate. It is ready and willing to change the narrative again because, even though the president is senile, he is their only option.

Still, I think we’re going to see a tightening of the situation in the next week. If Harris is not an option, but she is the only alternative, then they’re left with a “comatose or dead” Biden. All of these questions about his replacement will be drowned in a determined defense, because that’s the corner the Democrats have maneuvered themselves into.
Moreover, there was no chance that Jill and Hunter Biden always Drop Joe Biden out of the race. The president’s wife is power-mad and calling the shots while his son is still hoping for a pardon after the election. Once Biden leaves the White House, the fraud will end and they can’t let that happen.
The Republicans are cheerful about this news. Biden at least appears mortally wounded politically. He will not recover, and there is another debate looming that could send his campaign further into the abyss. For once, the president’s disturbed ego and his wife’s blind ambition are playing into the hands of conservatives. Biden staying in the race is not only good for Republicans, it’s what was supposed to happen anyway. Democrats must face the consequences of their actions. There are no simple ways out, and that’s a good thing.
