I would say, “Well, that didn’t take long,” but the articles of impeachment filed against Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday are not the first. Representative Andy Ogles (R) of Tennessee first filed a Charge against Harris in June 2023.
That first article, H.Res. 494, aimed to impeach Harris for her abject failure on the southern border. claimamong other things, that:
During her tenure as border czar-designate, U.S. Customs and Border Protection “encountered” 251,978 illegal aliens at the southwest border in December 2022. That’s the highest monthly number ever recorded and marks ten consecutive months with over 200,000 “encounters” with illegal aliens.

and the fees are just right
On Tuesday, shortly after Harris became the Democratic Party’s likely presidential candidate following Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race, added a second article.

The second article, entitled “Breach of Trust in the Public,” claims:
Kamala Devi Harris knowingly misled the people of the United States and the United States Congress, primarily to conceal the physical and mental well-being of the President of the United States, Joe Biden. Kamala Devi Harris carried out this action in the following ways:
(1) Kamala Devi Harris failed to follow the process provided by the 25th Amendment to the United States Constitution, despite her clear moral obligation to do so. This is especially true after President Joe Biden announced on Sunday, July 21, 2024, that he would not seek the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2024 election.
(2) Kamala Devi Harris has refused to answer questions about President Joe Biden’s tragic cognitive decline. In particular, she has not indicated when she became aware of this decline and since when she has known that the President is no longer capable of performing his official duties. Kamala Devi Harris has abused the public’s trust by failing to meet basic expectations of transparency and by displaying a severe lack of integrity.
In addition, the recent registration adds more details to Article I, entitled “Willful Refusal to Comply with Immigration Laws.”
The file also lists several crimes allegedly committed by immigrants living illegally in the United States, including Death of student Laken Rileywhich were particularly highlighted by Republicans, as well as current statistics on border crossings.
“In all of this, Kamala Devi Harris has willfully and systematically refused to comply with immigration laws, failed to control the border in a manner that compromised national security, endangered public safety, and violated the rule of law, all of which is blatantly harmful to the people of the United States,” the articles state.
The first submission was submitted but did not progress. Whether the recent submission will move forward beyond its launch remains to be seen.
