Hours after Foreign Minister Marco Rubio had been booted out of the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky kept his appointment for an interview by Bret Baier by Fox News Channel.
Zelensky started the interview by thanking President Trump and the American people for his support throughout the Three Years of Ukraine against Russia.
I was always very grateful for all of our people. They helped us a lot from the start … they helped us to survive. We are strategic partners, even in such tough dialogue.

From there it went downhill quickly when Zelensky was pressed by Baier to answer the question of whether he owed President Trump an apology.
“I respect president and I respect the American people and … I think we have to be very open and very honest and I am not sure whether we have done something bad.”
Zelensky added that he thought that some things had to be discussed privately, exactly what Vice President Vance said.
In some parts, Baier asked whether Zelensky believed that the public for Ukraine or Zelensky’s thing was helpful. One of his answers:
I think this kind of spit is – I mean, it’s not good for both sides anyway. And I am very open, but I can’t change our Ukrainian attitude to Russia, and I don’t want to – you are a murderer for us. Americans are the best of our friends, Europeans are the best of our friends.
We just want to recognize reality.
Bret Baier: “Do you think that the public in the oval office in front of the media serves the Ukrainians well today?”

Yes, we recognize the reality of death and destruction that occur in Ukraine and that at this point it is unlikely that both sides will have a complete military victory. Recognizing this is not pro-Russia.
The column of The Townhall Media colleague Kurt Schlichter from Thursday went through the realities professionally.
10 demanding facts about Ukraine and NATO
Zelensky used the term “fair and permanent peace” many times, and that is a very subjective goal. Who defines what is right now and how it can take?
“Ukraine wants peace and we will – we will have diplomatic possibilities, we will have negotiations. I only said that I think it is about just and permanent peace. We have to be very strong at the negotiating table.”
How does the war end?
The ultimate question of how Baier Zelensky asked is, how does it end?
I think Europe is ready to assist us finance a immense army … Now we just want to find a place for our biggest strategic partner.
We don’t have enough weapons to push them out, and we are now seeing a very immense volume of the novel support from the United States, with all respect again. We will be ready with a security guarantee.
This is just a breathtaking lack of self -confidence and how the panel, according to the conclusion of the interview, is not able to read the space to read the space.
Loss of Lindsey Graham’s trust
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was one of the largest supporters of Zelensky in the congress and especially on the Republican side of the Ganges, but after the debacle of the Oval Office, Graham said that Zelensky, if Zelensky does not have to bring it together, said. Baier asked Zelensky for his answer, and Zelensky rejected the offer.

Zelensky first said that this is due to the people in Ukraine, and then went around a little before finally circling back to say:
“I am not sure whether this is a good idea – so this suggests. With all respect for Lindsey, only the Ukrainians vote for their president.”
Right, but that requires free and fair elections.
Act the minerals
Baier said that Zelensky had been narrowly concentrated on the mineral contract today and later took care of ceasefire guarantees, and asked him why this was not done.

Zelensky partially replied:
I said that we have to sign this document and we are ready for it, and this will be the first step towards security guarantees, but it is not enough. I think so. Maybe I don’t know anything, I don’t know some details. So I wanted to hear it with the president, my thoughts and him again because he has a plan as he is Putin. And maybe it’s from gigantic conversations, but we have to share it.
This is so sensitive, you know, and only a ceasefire without security guarantees is so sensitive to our employees. I speak like a president of a people who are in battle for three years and they only want to hear America on our side and that America will stay with us, not in Russia. With us. That’s it. But I am sure that it will be – this is the first step towards security guarantees.
Do you call me uncomplicated, but with all the money that the Ukraine from the minerals would earn, would Zelensky be unable to finance part of this security guarantee? (Ignorating the fact that Ukraine runs out of people to do a gun.) And maybe the Ukrainian people need the killing instead of hearing that the Americans are rooted for them, not to mention that we have given them dollar in military and humanitarian aid since 2022? Does he want money and action or words?
What’s next for Trump and Zelensky?
Can this relationship be repaired? Zelensky said Baier that he thinks it could be repaired.
Brett Baier: “Do you think your relationship with President Trump can be recovered after today?”
Zelenskyy: “Yes, of course.” pic.twitter.com/igmwao5gxk
– The Post Millennial (@tpostmillennial) February 28, 2025
He partially said:
“Yes, of course, because there are more than two presidents. Historical relationships, strong relationships between our people. And that’s why I started thanking their people from our people.”
Since Trump has already left Washington for the weekend, nothing will happen soon. If Zelensky appears in a suit and show a reasonable respect, a deal can be made. For all of our sakes and especially for people in Ukraine and Russia, we hope that this can be done.
