When a presidential candidate looks for a running mate, he is typically looking for someone who can bolster his vote in a key state or region and who may also provide ideological balance on the slate.

That’s exactly why many found Vice President Kamala Harris’ choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz odd; she was already the clear favorite in deep-blue Minnesota, but could utilize some facilitate in hotly contested Pennsylvania. Why didn’t she choose popular Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro? Was it because he’s Jewish and she didn’t want to alienate the anti-Israel crowd?

What she probably didn’t expect was that she lose Support in Minnesota after the election, but that is exactly what happened, according to a surveyYou’d think voters in his home state would be joyful to see him on the ballot, but maybe they know him all too well:

Harris now leads Trump 48% to 43%, a significant drop from the previous poll, where she was between 50% and 40%.

The opposite of the uproar one would normally have expected after the party congress.

This is particularly notable because more Democrats than Republicans participated in this poll: Democrats made up 40 percent of the sample, Republicans 35 percent, and independents the rest.

The survey was conducted by SurveyUSA from August 27 to 29 and included 800 adults.

Harris probably wishes she could turn back time now and choose someone else, because the left-wing radical Walz brings a lot of baggage with him.

My colleague Bonchie reported on Saturday that poll results show that she would have won comfortably against Trump in Pennsylvania if she had chosen Shapiro. He wrote:

So why did she choose a Betamax, honor-hating idiot from Minnesota over Shapiro? We all know why. There was no logical reason for Harris to choose Walz, a radical with a lot of baggage from a non-swing state. It’s clear she did it just to appease the Hamas simps in her party.

That pretty much sums it up.

Trump is still unlikely to win the Gopher State – he has never believed in Republicans in any presidential election. in 52 years– but it is not completely impossible:

The numbers show that not even Walz’s own voters are fans.

Only 52 percent of Minnesota voters think he is an excellent or good choice, 12 percent think he is a fair choice, and a staggering 34 percent think he is a bad choice.

Among men, Walz is below average: 49 percent support his election, 50 percent are against it. About 40 percent of male respondents described him as a bad choice for vice president.

Oops. Sorry, Kamala, there will be no second chances this time.
