The speaker’s battle actually may have been decided quicker than expected, with Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) winning on the first vote despite reservations from some Republicans.
But the statements made by the Democratic leader in the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), also attracted some attention – along the lines of “Oops, what did he just say?”
“We’re going to fart hard…fight hard…for freedom of choice,” Jeffries said.

Um, okay. That was pretty amusing. This is something that will probably be remembered everywhere.
But what the hell is he talking about in the full statement? Who is denied the right to vote? You can see that the larger comment doesn’t make sense either.
Partisan tools by Hakeem Jeffries. It’s not about you, buddy: “That freedom is now under attack. There are some in this country who seem to believe that the freedom of economic opportunity that has made them rich should not apply to everyone else. But Jeffries wasn’t done with the false comments. Then he tried to do an Obama impersonation (note the finger pointing that Barack Obama always did) and called on people to come together. In the next breath, he attacked Republicans and said, “There are no election deniers on our side.”
🚨 HYPOCRIST ALERT
“It’s time for us to come together NOT as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans.”

He responded to the huge celebration of President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory.

“You should love America when you win and when you lose,” he declared.
Not only have there been many “election deniers” on the Democratic side since 2000, but Hakeem Jeffries himself was one of them, as we have reported in the past, and many have accused him of lying.

So didn’t he “love America” when he denied that Trump won the first time? It is quite hypocritical and completely wrong for Jeffries to spread this lie. But the truth for Democrats appears to be changing to what they believe helps their policy positions.
