As we have reported, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has remained largely noiseless as election officials in his state openly violated the law and continued to count undated or misdated ballots in the Senate race from Republican Dave McCormick to Democrat Bob move Casey.

On Monday, the state Supreme Court had enough and ruled 4-3 that these election-stealing schemes must stop. Well, Shapiro is finally admit that the game is over and that there are actually laws that must be followed.

It’s about time, Governor:

Governor of Pennsylvania. Josh Shapiro is siding with the state Supreme Court after the justices ruled in a contentious recount that flawed mail-in ballots cannot be counted, handing a victory to Republican Party officials.

The state Supreme Court on Monday upheld its earlier ruling in a 4-3 ruling that counties cannot count misdated or undated ballots. The decision singled out election boards in Bucks County, Montgomery County and Philadelphia County, which they said in their Nov. 1 opinion will “comply with this court’s prior rulings, which we have made clear.” Verdict.

“Any suggestion that our laws can be ignored or don’t matter is irresponsible and damages trust in our electoral process,” said Shapiro, a Democrat. “The rule of law is important in Pennsylvania. … It is critical for districts of both parties to respect them in both their rhetoric and their actions.”

I suspect that the expression “better late than never” would apply here. However, he didn’t exactly show leadership like the previous George. W. Bush’s press secretary Ari Fleischer made it clear:

background: BREAKING: PA Supreme Court stops the theft

Can we please talk about Josh Shapiro, the 1928 Democratic front-runner, helping steal a Senate seat?

In the run-up to the latest court decision, officials had been openly defiant, saying they did not care about the “rule of law.” Remember folks, the Republicans are the “threat to democracy”:

The Supreme Court initially ruled on November 1 that mail-in ballots without officially required signatures or data should not be counted. However, Democratic-led election boards — including in Philadelphia, Bucks County, Montgomery County and Center County — rejected the ruling and voted to include such ballots in the recount.

“People break the law whenever they want,” says the Bucks County Democratic Party Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia said last week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. “So if I violate this law, it’s because I want a court to pay attention. There is nothing more important than counting the votes.”

I guess we should give Shapiro a nod for finally playing by the rules, but my applause is decidedly lackluster. The presumptive Democratic front-runner for president in ’28 showed he was a miss when his state needed someone with integrity to run.
