CHICAGO (NewsNation) — Planned Parenthood is preparing to Democratic National Convention this week.
The Planned Parenthood Great Rivers shared on Xformerly known as Twitter that its mobile health clinic will park in the city’s West Loop – just minutes from the DNC venue, the United Center – to offer “FREE vasectomies and medication abortions” on Monday and Tuesday. Medication abortion is also known as the abortion pill.
The Chicago Abortion Fund and a gastronomic center of the Windy City The Vienna Circle work with PPH. The procedures are carried out by by appointment only.
Pop-up care is based on Vice President Kamala Harris‘ relentless Abortion PlatformThe Democratic candidate supports the nationwide legalization of abortion and previously described it as a “fundamental freedom” in an MSNBC interview.
Harris also claimed that “everything is at stake” regarding women’s reproductive rights in the 2024 elections, with reference to the Overturning the Roe v. Wade decision and former president Donald Trump‘s stricter views.
When is the DNC 2024?
The four-day event begins on Monday, August 19, just one month after the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Harris became the official candidate the Democratic Party on August 2 after a virtual vote in which she was able to win enough delegates to do so. Harris has since announced Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz as her running mate.
Who is the headliner at the DNC?
Expected speakers The Democrats include President Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, among other substantial names.
More than 50,000 participants are expected in Chicago and at least 5,000 delegates are expected.
