Pride Month begins with events all over the world that hand over this weekend.
It is an annual series of parades and other meetings to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and rights.
In the heart is proud both a party and a protest.
In the United States this year, this means to speak against a number of guidelines, impose restrictions on transgender people and try to end the programming of diversity, justice and inclusion in government, education and companies.
Here is a look at the roots and this year’s events and topics.
When the Pride Month started
The months of global celebration began at the end of June 1970 with the Gay Pride Week, a year after the raid of the violent police in the New York Stonewall Inn, a gay bar.
At a time when many LGBTQ+ people held their identities privately, on June 28, 1969, Raid triggered a number of public protests and catalyzed the gay law movement.
In the first Pride Week there was a march in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco and has grown in other cities since then. This weekend there are events in Philadelphia in the calendar; New Orleans on June 14; Chicago on June 21 and 22; and New York on the weekend of June 28th and 29th. Many other events in gigantic cities and miniature cities are also planned.
There are proud celebrations all over the world, including June 8th in Tokyo; Toronto on June 27th to 29th; Sao Paolo on June 22nd; and Paris on June 28th.
Some events also fall outside June. World Pride, a semi -annual event this year in Washington, DC, began in May and goes through June 8th. The pride in London takes place in July. A large celebration in Rio de Janeiro is in November and Atlanta is in October.
Former President Bill Clinton proclaimed June 1999 as a gay and lesbian pride month and was the first time that a US President did so.
How Trump aims on Trans -People and DEI guidelines
When President Donald Trump returned to office in January, he quickly tried to recall the LGBTQ+ rights.
Particularly targeted transgender people with guidelines that indicate to enable people to change the gender listed in their passport, to eliminate transgender military troops, and tried to utilize the utilize of federal insurance programs to pay for transgender less than 19 years and to keep transgender athletes from girls and women’s sports competitions.

The 10-year anniversary of same-sex marriage legalizes nationwide
