The Biden border crisis.
Then-presidential candidate Joe Biden practically promised throughout his 2020 campaign to set up welcoming mariachi bands and party piñatas for children along the southern border.
Now that there are countless millions of illegal immigrants in the country, including “escapees,” and Biden’s approval ratings continue to plummet, his advisers seem nervous and are reconsidering.
As reported According to the New York Times, Biden is expected to sign an executive order on Tuesday allowing him to temporarily seal the U.S. border with Mexico to stop the illegal flow of asylum seekers into the country.
Several people familiar with the plans say senior Biden aides have briefed members of Congress in recent days about the impending order and told them they can expect the president to sign it along with South Texas mayors.
Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar supported the executive action even though he had not yet read it.
I have been informed of the impending Executive Order. I certainly support it, as I have been advocating for these measures for years. Although the Order has not yet been released, I support the details that have been communicated to me so far.
Cuellar had previously criticized Biden for not strengthening border controls at the beginning of his presidency.
Angelo Fernández Hernández, a White House spokesman, said in a statement on Monday:
While Republicans in Congress stand in the way of increased border security, President Biden will not stop fighting to ensure that border and immigration officials have the resources they need to secure our border.
[The administration is was exploring] a range of policy options and we remain committed to taking action to improve our broken immigration system.
Here’s more, via The Times:
The order would allow border officials to prevent migrants from seeking asylum and quickly expel them once border crossings exceed a certain threshold. Administration officials discussed earlier this year allowing Mr. Biden to close the border if there are an average of 5,000 border crossings per week, or 8,500 in a single daybut those involved in the negotiations cautioned that the threshold was not yet final and could change. White House officials have focused on a trigger that would empower Mr. Biden to close the border.
The controversial and notorious Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who never fails (to those who think he should be impeached, convicted, and immediately thrown in jail for treason), predictably said in May:
What we need is legislation. Executive actions will be challenged. I am convinced of that. And then the question will be what the outcome of those proceedings will be. Legislation is a safer solution.
Uh-yes. A few questions, Alejandro:
What “executive measures” has your boss signed to to implement his deliberate border invasion?
And why does arguably the worst president in US history have to resort to congressional intervention to stop what he deliberately started shortly after Biden took office?
Worse still, Biden said the following about former President Trump and his “Return to Mexico” policy in 2019:
This is the first president in the history of the United States to force every asylum seeker to do so in another country. This has never happened before.
You come to the United States and present your case. In this way, you apply for asylum based on the premise of why you deserve it under American law.
The shameless hypocrisy of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. knows no bounds. There is no depth to which this man, his advisers, and the Democratic Party will not sink.
The conclusion
So what has changed? Why the 360? The answer is not only straightforward, it is obvious.
Biden’s advisers are desperately trying to save his miserable presidency by pulling out every stop that could support them.
But here’s something else:
If Biden does take the executive action and win in November – then actually carries out the EO – how many nanoseconds will it take him to tear it to pieces and start importing as many illegal immigrants as he can get away with in his second term?
