On Friday, many of us were shocked to discover that FEMA had refused to provide aid to Trump supporters in Florida. In an exclusive Daily Wire article, we learned that a FEMA field manager, Marn’i Washington, had instructed her team not to visit residences displaying campaign materials supporting President Trump’s bid for a second term.

I suspect that what is incredible about this episode is not that one of the most politicized agencies in the federal government would punish Americans who supported a rival candidate, but that a FEMA employee would take the time to issue an order to her employees document committing a crime. It’s reminiscent of a scene from the epic HBS series “The Wire.”
During the response to Hurricane Helene, there were numerous reports of delayed or non-existent federal response in heavily Republican areas of western North Carolina.

On September 30, then-candidate Trump noted in a Truth Social post:
I’ll be there shortly, but I don’t like the reports I’m getting about the federal government and the state’s Democratic governor going out of their way to not aid people in Republican areas.
Despite this driving “Tact checker“Crazy, the claim clearly deserves re-examination.
As I posted on Saturday, the likelihood of a low-level, part-time FEMA employee developing a policy to withdraw federal aid from Trump supporters in violation of federal law appears slim. The fact that Trump supporters in Florida were denied federal aid and that Trump had heard of the same incident in North Carolina suggests a broader FEMA policy aimed at either driving out Trump supporters for the 2024 election or to permanently destroy conservative communities.
Marn’i Washington’s firing looks and smells like a cover-up.
