Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Piers Morgan he considers former President Donald Trump to be the “greatest debater in modern American history,” but expressed doubt that CNN moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will ask tough questions of either candidate given their support for both administrations’ COVID-era policies. Kennedy said Tapper and Bash have been “cheerleaders” for COVID lockdowns.
In some of the biggest and most dramatic decisions during their presidency, such as the lockdown of the American people, CNN anchors were the proponents of those lockdowns.
He went on to mention the trillions spent during the pandemic.
As a result, $4.3 trillion in wealth was placed in the hands of this novel oligarchy of billionaires, the middle class in this country was destroyed, 3.3 million businesses were closed without due process – our churches forced us to wear masks.
Jake Tapper was the cheerleader for this. Do you think he will ask you any of the difficult questions?
Morgan interrupted and said he believed Tapper and Bash would ask Trump and Biden difficult questions.
You know what? I actually do. I think Jake is a great journalist. I worked with him at CNN, and I think Dana Bash is too. I think, yes, of course they can. I think they’ll actually do a very good job.

The term “journalist” is still used very loosely, because no real journalist would compare Trump to Hitler, fantasize about the former president for most of his show every day, and not apply the same level of critical scrutiny when covering Biden.
Morgan asked Kennedy who he thought would win the debate, and Kennedy replied, “I don’t like to make predictions, but I would predict that Trump will win.”
He could win an award as the greatest debater in modern American history, probably since Lincoln-Douglas.
I say this after watching him defeat 16 Republicans in a row. [in 2016] and just destroy them. He is extremely entertaining to watch. He has the ability to make up facts and then believe them unconditionally – and sell them to the crowd.
He’s a brilliant entertainer and nothing fazes him. I don’t think President Biden can beat him in this debate.
Trump is unpredictable on the debate stage and quick to throw punches, as we saw during the 2016 Republican primaries, the 2016 debate against Hillary Clinton, and the 2020 debate against Biden.

Morgan further asked Kennedy if he believed the DNC would replace Biden in the event of a “catastrophic” debate. He said:
I think that’s possible. The convention would be the place to do that. That’s where you have the superdelegates who are basically in line. And they’re the ones who would choose the next nominee. So I think they would probably welcome that opportunity — some of them would welcome it.
It will be captivating to see if the questions from the moderators will be fair and balanced and whether they will be straightforward or difficult questions. Hopefully it will be a one-on-one debate that is mostly about policy so that undecided voters can get a good idea of who they think should lead the country for the next four years.
