Just a little less than 48 hours until President-elect Donald Trump and incoming Vice President JD Vance pick up the Holy Bible swear to defend If we respect the U.S. Constitution and protect the American people, it is probably unthreatening to no longer hold our collective breath.
It’s happening, people!
However, let’s go back a little to something incumbent President Biden (and to some extent Vice President Kamala Harris) did on Friday – namely, declaring (incorrectly) that the Constitution of the United States now magically includes a 28th. Constitutional Amendment has, and that is the case, “the law of the land” because he says so.
What did Biden say?
“Consistent with my oath and duty to the Constitution and the country, I affirm what I believe and what three-quarters of the states have ratified: The 28th Amendment is the law of the land and guarantees equal rights and protections under the law to all Americans, without regard protection of their gender.
You may have caught some of our stories about the resulting madness here at RedState:

Now JD Vance is probably busy preparing for all the inauguration events in the next few days, which you can read about in my latest article.
But he needed a moment to not only Pres. Biden for his arrogance or ignorance (or both) with a hilarious request in the X-Post form on Saturday. He also opened up a sensitive topic for his fellow Ohioans. Above this Biden post:
Today I confirm what I have long believed and what three quarters of the States have ratified:

Vance wrote:
Warning: Contains rugged language
Hey Joe, if we do fraudulent shit on the way out, can you put Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame?
Then the vice president-elect added a very heartfelt conclusion befitting the Buckeye State:
See you in two days!
Our next Vice President, ladies and gentlemen!
Vance is someone who gets it. In very occasional cases, Republican lawmakers have embraced the idea that a good way to convey a political message is to tie it to a cultural message. Or add a genuine mention of culture.
Plus, humor is always a good start, and this joke from Vance is hilarious!
Of course, let’s go back to the pointed question that the former senator from Ohio raises here. Readers may know that there are few cultural issues more controversial than whether or not Pete Rose belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame. For many who grew up in southwest Ohio like I did, it is certainly still a major problem to this day. Before we move on, can everyone agree on one statement: RIP, Pete.
Finally, I would like to say to all critics: Yes, Peter Edward Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame. Period!
