When Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin met his end, Joseph Stalin had been planning his seizure of power for years. He had inserted himself into the bureaucratic state for precisely this purpose. When he took power, he tried to eliminate threats to his power grab. He eliminated enormous parts of the power elite, including members of Lenin’s inner circle, and became the General Secretary of the Communist PartyHe was not chosen by anyone to be Lenin’s successor – he committed himself to succeeding Lenin.
After Lenin’s death, most people who wanted to keep their heads joined Stalin. Leon Trotsky did not and paid the price with an ice pick in his brain. Great Cleanup followed.
Stalin and Trotsky were experts at eliminating resistance to communist rule and “converting” those who had not enthusiastically supported their power. Newspapers that wrote anything other than effusive support disappeared. Editors were sent to the gulags. Journalists disappeared or were given a choice: support us or disappear.
Stalin had a habit of making the past disappear. Before Photoshop, there was Stalin and his airbrush team and his henchmen who re-wrote history. There is a notable before and after photo of Stalin and a henchman next to the Volga. This man was the head of the NKVD (People’s Commissariat of Internal Affairs), Nikolai Yezhov. Yezhov’s image was airbrushed out of photographs. Such a photo has become a kind of meme for erasing history.
After Joe Biden had to drop out of his presidential bid, the Democratic Party’s power elites named Kamala Harris as the party’s nominee. In 2020, she was inept in the election campaign. Her positions were so scattered and so far to the left that even the Democrats hated her. She was forced to resign before the Iowa Caucus. In 2024, she was named the next Obama without a single vote.
The party has a number of problems with the undemocratically selected Kamala Harris, not least because, as mentioned, she failed to get a single person to vote for her. But the lapdog media knows that Harris’ biggest problem is not that the party apparatus chose her; it’s her record of being to the left of Bernie Sanders (I-VT) that they fear will be her undoing.
Harris has a well-documented history of left-wing positions that are as “nonpartisan” as one can get. Recently, the “nonpartisan”GovTrack” has eliminated/cleaned a page in its rankings that listed Kamala Harris as the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate in 2019. There are many leftists in the Senate, yet Harris was ranked ahead of Sanders, Chris Murphy (CT) and Chris Coons (DE).
The media is at full speed in its Orwellian effort to delete inconvenient information about Kamala Harris. GovTrack is the latest example.

GovTrack has said that the page was not removed to hide Harris’ history of left-wing positions and her left-wing votes in the Senate, but to change the rankings to cover two years instead of one. In the two-year rankings of 100 senators, Harris was ranked as second most liberal senator.

And other media outlets will soon do their part. Axios got the memo and has already started. Axios and its willing lackeys are editing pages and removing facts that put Harris in a bad lightweight, i.e., changing the “story.” In the home stretch of the election, the left and their willing media will try to change the narrative or alter the written history. A perfect example of these efforts is the claim that Harris was never a “border czar.” Democrats and willing media outlets are removing that title from their resume or refusing to talk about it.
“Harris was never appointed border czar…” Just as Bill Clinton is trying to redefine “is,” media and “nonpartisan” actors will twist Harris’ past and try to change history. We can look forward to gaslighting and manipulation and disappearing page links, but Republicans will highlight their mistakes. Harris and her manipulation team can’t airbrush people out of photos like Stalin. Those days are over. The internet is forever. But what they can do is make pages disappear from websites and hope people have compact memories.
We are not the Soviet Union, and Harris is not Stalin. Stalin was a skilled politician and ultimately had total control of the media. Sure, Harris has [most of] She has the media in her pocket, but she cannot erase history – her history will remain forever, even if there are sycophants willing to delete pages from websites.
Sorry, Democrats, but the Internet is forever.
