Austin, Texas (AP) – Texas would request that all classrooms of the public school issue the ten commandments in the context of a Republican proposal that rejected a substantial voice on Saturday and would impose the state to the greatest of the nation for such a mandate.
If the measure is adopted as expected, the measure is probably a legal contestation of critics that they consider for a constitutional violation of the separation of the church and the state.
The Republican -controlled house gave its provisional approval with a final vote in the next few days. This would send the bill to the desk of the Republican governor Greg Abbott, who announced that he would sign it into the law.
“The focus of this law is on the investigation of what is historically important for our national and judicial nation,” said the Republican representative of Candy Noble, a co-sponsor of the legislation.
Two other states, Louisiana and Arkansas, have similar laws, but Louisiana is on ice after a federal judge found that it was “unconstitutional on his face”.
These measures are an effort, mainly in conservative countries to include religion in public schools.
