As the dismay over President Silver Alert’s prospects continues, this has become a scenario that has us buying popcorn in bulk. The Democrats are disintegrating in a political civil war while the subservient media is left helpless. Which side of the power struggle do the sycophantic journalists support?! This leads to hilarious results and reveals paradoxes and contradictions.
The New York Times is an example of a media outlet confined by its own claims. When it was revealed during the debate that all of Joe Biden’s ailments that some had pointed out were in fact real, the Times published an article declaring that his condition was a problem. This contradicted reports that had appeared days earlier that video evidence of his recovery had been faked – as seen in the same news outlet. After claiming that these were “misleading videos” (or “cheap fakes”), the same newspaper immediately called for Biden to resign when the evidence was obvious.
It is quite remarkable that the about-face in the press came after shouting at the public that the videos of Biden’s condition were fraudulent.
The lies are clearly noticeable. pic.twitter.com/32o5eZNGp1— LieAbleSources (@LieAbleSources) July 1, 2024
Now the paper is wrestling with how to interpret the Democrats’ internal struggle. The dismay is evident, and the confusion beyond the walls of the Gray Lady’s headquarters is seeping into both its pulp and digital pages. How does one reconcile the way the paper veers from claiming the evidence is fraudulent, then the evidence is grounds for Biden’s firing, to claiming there is a nefarious conservative conspiracy to oust Biden?
In its latest publication, the Times explains that the current situation on the party list is due to a conservative conspiracy. Stuart Thompson fights challenging in his attempt to shift the explosive issue onto Republicans and conservatives.
For years, far-right commentators have been circulating a conspiracy theory that Democratic Party elites are secretly planning to replace President Biden on the ballot – a transfer of power that could give the party an advantage in November.
Thompson tries to gloss over the fact that Biden’s weakness was clearly noticeable during the 2020 campaign. He avoided reporters and confined his media presence – an odd decision during what was supposed to be a campaign tour. The press shrugged when the campaign kept abruptly “backtracking” its planned activities, and journalists joked that Biden was campaigning from the basement. This led to speculation at the time about how long it would be before Joe stepped down for one reason or another.
That Biden managed to last almost a full term is a surprise in itself, and he seems more than exhausted, although he is still far from the finish line. In other words, the speculations were not conspiracy theories, but proved to be right. This is something Thompson is reluctant to admit: “Suddenly, it seems quite possible that Biden will be replaced as the party’s presidential candidate by another Democrat..”
Yet he continues to try to point the finger at the right. Look, this is not a case of those who predicted this outcome and reported on Biden’s condition being proven correct. No, these analysts fell into that correct condition.
But every now and then, one of these stories collides with reality. The influencers who spread these ideas capitalize on their luck and lend credibility to their work.
What is being seen here is the press being exposed once again because the very story it has long sought to hide and avoid has been proven correct. Biden’s realistic state means that years of journalistic deception are being laid bare and Thompson is resorting to an immature explanation. He sounds like the pitcher who allows a home run and claims the batter had his eyes closed, or the defender who allows a touchdown and says it was just a lucky rebound.
Which makes it all the more strange that the New York Times wants to sell us the story that Biden’s removal was nothing more than a conservative conspiracy. Axios publishes a report She describes how Biden is literally being targeted for impeachment – by people in his own party. It becomes impossible to see the “conservative conspiracy” when it is reported that the forces seeking to push Biden off the ballot come from the Obama and Clinton administrations.
This revelation came within hours of the New York Times publishing their Blue Anon theory. It shows the dismay currently simmering in the press circles and how much they deserve all the ridicule and scorn that is being thrown at them. This too is a cause for concern in the press, as can be seen in another Axios column was published a day earlierIt seems that the public contempt that results from exposing press complicity is damaging journalists.
Many are being harassed on social media for being too supple on Biden. In our experience, most reporters are more insecure than people think, and very sensitive to what friends and enemies think of them, especially with regard to X.
Now, I am not the type to encourage others to harass these extremely sensitive reporters and pundits who are deeply affected by those who directly address them for not doing their jobs and denounce them for violating journalistic ethics for abandoning their mission to hold the powerful accountable while blatantly lying to the public. Of course, if you are personally moved to do so, that is your decision, and I would respect your decision on the matter.
Govern yourself accordingly!
