As Los Angeles burns, the California Legislature is holding a special session at the behest of Gov. Gavin Newsom to “Trump-proof” the state. This is one of the many decisions the Golden State’s “leadership” continues to make, and once again it’s not about competence, the people or the quality of life in the state – it’s about pushing a woke, left-wing agenda.
As RedState’s Bonchie reported Monday, the dapper governor and state lawmakers have agreed to allocate $50 million to fight Trump’s expected policies, particularly on immigration. It is not yet known how this will help the wildfire victims who have lost everything.
However, on the other side of the country, there is a governor who is showing real leadership and the vision to improve his state; His name is Ron DeSantis and he pursues the exact opposite of Gavin:
🚨 JUST IN: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just released his plan in the special session to carry out President Trump’s mass deportations after January 20th.
Here it is. Holy cow.
Basically every deterrent and authority you can imagine. Trump has an ally in Florida. Other states… pic.twitter.com/4J5tF9iAAA

Other states should follow this model.
You see, he’s calling for one a separate special sessionbut his goal is to help the future President of the United States rather than trying to thwart the will of the people who voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump and his agenda.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling on state lawmakers for a special session to help quickly implement President-elect Donald Trump’s promises crackdown on immigration…
Trump is currently preparing more than 100 implementing regulations Day one the up-to-date White House administration, in what amounts to a shock-and-awe campaign on border security, deportations and a rush of others political priorities.

DeSantis rushes to defend Trump and Blisters Media’s refusal to blame Newsom for the wildfires
The special session begins the week of January 27, a week after Trump’s inauguration. “State and local officials in Florida must help the Trump administration enforce our nation’s immigration laws,” DeSantis said. “To do this effectively, we need legislation that imposes additional duties on local officials and provides them with resources.”
In a press conference on Wednesday, he had more to say and explained what some of the measures might look like:
BREAKING: DeSantis announces special session bill proposal that would allow local law enforcement to deport illegals if approved by the Trump administration
It includes:
– New criminal sanctions that apply at the state level for illegal entry
– Repeal in the state… pic.twitter.com/xKFhwV3U2t– Florida Voice (@FLVoiceNews) January 15, 2025
The post continued:
It includes:
– New criminal sanctions that apply at the state level for illegal entry
– Repeal in-state tuition fees for illegal immigrants
– Requirement of confirmation of citizenship through voter registration
– Higher penalties for election fraud by illegals
– Require identity verification for transfers. -Expand gang enforcement
– Illegal immigrants should be considered to be a flight risk and therefore bail should be denied to all detained persons
My unsolicited suggestion to Newsom if he wants to continue his political career is to go to Florida and study what Ron DeSantis is doing. It’s called “leadership” and it’s not… whatever you do, Gavin.
