When someone is elected to Congress, one would assume that the elected representative represents the people who elected him or her. This does not appear to be the case with the absolutely despicable Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who claims to represent Somalia.
Today she could receive her just punishment. She faces a primary challenge from the same person who challenged her in 2022 – Don SamuelsIf Samuels succeeds, Omar will be the third Squad member to go down in flames this year, following the equally despicable Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Cori Bush (D-MO).
After a tough summer at the ballot box for the members of the so-called “Squad”, The group of progressive and diverse Democrats in the House of Representatives faces its final intra-party challenge on Tuesday when primaries are held in four Midwestern and New England states.
Representative Ilhan Omar from Minnesota faces voters one week after her squad colleague, Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri, lost her re-nomination and nearly two months after another squad member, Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York, lost to his challenger in the primary.
But Omar, who made history as the first Somali-American in Congress and the first woman of color to represent Minnesota on Capitol Hill, is the favorite as she faces three challengers in the Democratic primary. Omar is seeking a fourth two-year term representing the Minneapolis-anchored 5th Congressional District.
Omar could unfortunately do better than Bowman and Bush, as she has three challengers in the primary; however, we should note that Minnesota has an open primary system – meaning Republicans in Minnesota can defect and vote for any of Omar’s opponents, essentially repeating the strategy of the tardy, great Rush Limbaugh. Operation Chaos on a more local level.
Let’s do it, Minnesota!

Given Ilhan Omar’s penchant for representing Somalia, one wonders why she has lasted so long, but her district also includes Minneapolis’s gigantic Somali community. Given this, some might argue that her claim that she represents Somalia is sheer hyperbole.
I am skeptical.
Still, it’s strenuous to understand why voters in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District keep electing this woman to Congress. To get a clue, we can look at Rep. Omar’s list of accomplishments during her time in the House:
…
Phew, come on! That’s the list. There’s nothing to bet on it. Her career seems to have been built on her screeching far-left nonsense and anti-Israel (one might say anti-Semitic) bile, while managing to contribute very little to, well, anything. She is one of the most odious and unpleasant people to ever sit in the House of Representatives, but unfortunately recent polls make it look like she may well make it. survive this latest challenge.
But it’s not over yet. The fat woman hasn’t sung yet, although she’s warming up in the starting blocks. As a guy who grew up a kid in miniature town Iowa, I hereby make this promise to the voters of Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District: Kick that woman out, and I will not make jokes about Minnesota for three weeks. I will for six weeks if she goes down by a landslide by ten points or more. Do it, Minnesotans. And Fifth District Republicans – bite your tongue and vote for Don Samuels, because sometimes the difference between good and bad isn’t as great as the difference between bad and worse.
This seems appropriate.
